Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Cameron said in his Bloomberg speech "Of course Britain could make her own way in the world, Outside the EU, if we choose to do so"
Compare that to the scaremongering and false information he's now reverted to giving out..

The real reason there's been no major wars in Europe is NATO, NOT the European union.
You're got to look at the civil unrest that's going on in countries like Greece and the Ukraine, etc too see that the EU does not keep the peace.
IT DESTROYS DEMOCROCY.

I agree grannyboy up to a point about NATO. It was partially set up to deter soviet expansion but also to encourage european integration. Either way, NATO or EU is aiming to achieve the same result. It does not destroy democracy.....they voted to join the European Union. Civil unrest has always happened (Catalunya, N Ireland, Ukraine etc) but that is different from outright war.

Thanks for the spelling check Fred1.
HARRYCAT, "but also encourage european intergration"
Sorry got to disagree with you there...ALL the dikdats that come out of Brussels ARE to be OBEYED..Thats not democracy, the same with the immigrant crisis..It was Merkel that instigated and encouraged what is happening now in europe, and she demands that countries should share the burden that her folly has created.....

Check out Merkel's action down the line!
Perhaps, more important her action was out of "common decency" and not short term gain.

Well its the countries of europe and its culture thats going to suffer for her 'common decency' for years to come.
When these 'refugees' arrive in Turkey, they're in a SAFE country...The UK has provided billions of pounds in aid to these SAFE camps.

Seriously.....in a way : you have to feel sorry for these people : but they should not be trying to come to Europe and getting on the benfits/housing bandwagon....and they need to be discouraged in doing so.....people from the third world cannot and should not have the same expectations in life as us....and I'm afraid I do not want to see the British and Europeans all looking like a black and white minstrel show...I'm sorry but it's not colour prejudice.....it's just that Britain is a white country and should remain so in majority otherwise we will lose our national identity, our soul, our faith everything proud we stand for !...

It's just that we are being conditioned or trained/put down by our governing politicians/elite never able to speak out and it it has got to a stage where british people have forgotten what it is like to revolt to say no to things that are wrong because it has become too difficult with little chance of success......and games and tv circuses replace the will in us to try and change our stifled, suppressed little lives all to the satisfaction of the muzzling classes....

eu migrants + benefits
the story on today's front page of the fascist gazette (aka telegraph) makes interesting reading, but as always the paper's leanings should be taken into account
apparently ~257,000 eu migrants arrived in uk last year, yet ~630,000 applied for ni registration
once one is so registered, is one then automatically entitled to a number of benefits, and if so, which?
the other obvious question scarcely needs to be raised
the other interesting comment in the same article was that 000s (unspecified) of illegals were uncovered but could not be deported as "they had nowhere to go" .......
are we totally bonkers????
what's wrong with back whence they came?

potential collapse of eu
if the country votes "out", is it likely that eu will have started on the slippery slope to disintegration?
imo, yes indeed
would it matter?
imo, assuredly
apart from the economic turmoil ensuing after an "out" vote, the (slow) disintegration of eu itself would lead to a dangerous political vacuum which would certainly have russia rubbing its hands with glee
in conclusion, and it's also a caveat to myself, be careful of what you wish and vote for

A question for you Alf, can I assume that you "don't" do the National Lottery?
