Three trading statements this month....NEW MEDIA INDUSTRIES (NMI)

ethel - 28 Feb 2005 20:19

Here's an interesting penny share,4.38p.The results were'nt brilliant, but they have got very excited about iPix holdings that they acquired in December 2004.The parent company is American, but NMI have a large range of European "territories" to conquer including the U:K:We are talking about surveillance cameras here. With all the interst in security these days this company seems interesting to me.Their latest project is to install cameras etc.at two operating stations run by Arriva. This is the first installation of its kind in Europe.Have a look at their website and give me some feedback, please. The sp could go to 8p IMHO.www.nmsecurity.comTHANKS...ETHEL

Another trading statement issued today fairly positive in my view, any thoughts anyone?

A lot of activity in NMI shares today and only 1 of the trades was a sell.
What has surprised me was the volume and value of trades given that they are issuing more equity onto the markets on Monday at 3p a share, strange given people were prepared to pay 4p a share today.

Things are certainly looking up for NMI,especially as they are getting involved in transport security. The market still only reacts for a day or so on news..and this might be the case after today's announcement stating that they are going to concentrate solely on the security business.
Hope they get good money for the other businesses.
They have the right people on board and I hope to see the sp at 8p by the year end.Only offputting thing is the whacking spread, which should tighten as we see progress.DYOR and hope for the best!

It hurts me to say it but the enviroment we live in today is certainly going to help NMI progress from here.

Yes,a horrible time for all,but the security business is going to grow fast.I am surprised to see that Croma has'nt picked up more after last week's tragic events...this is another company that I have been following and also SGD.There has to be more consolidation in this market between the smaller firms.
Interesting to note that NMI is considering a move to the Tech section of the stockmarket...should help them. Will this changeover cost them anything?

davepyle - 03 Aug 2005 21:05 - 31 of 49

any news from the foreign office contract?

ethel - 23 Aug 2005 11:39 - 32 of 49

davepyle...sorry I never answered your question!
Events have meant that we now need to see shareholder approval for the sale of the media business which will be sought at the EGM on Sept 7.
I think NMI are lucky to have sold this loss making business for 1 million, although obviously they would have liked more.
The admission to the market today of millions of new shares has encouraged the mms to raise the sp on virtually no sales. The horrible spread is a bit of a deterrent.
The management moves fast and will be keen to get the Olympic contracts. If this security system is good enough for President Bush and Prince Charles then it must satisfy the criteria for top level protection.
Their upgraded website is a great improvement on the old one.Shareholders would be foolish to vote against the sale of the media business.
IMO this company should do very well,as long as they don't make mistakes......!

I really did have high hopes for this company like you said Ethel the client list speaks volumes about the products they have to offer.

One thing i am fed up with is the constant placing of shares on the market to raise funds for replenishing stock,i`m a bit sceptical of this excuse!

ethel - 23 Aug 2005 13:42 - 34 of 49

Also,if you are going to raise money, get it over with in one large chunk.2 million seems very small to me if they are going "big time".Should we expect another share issue in a few months time?At least it does'nt increase debt levels and today's dilution(IF the new shares have reached the market)does'nt seem to have hurt the sp.
We shall see...I am already in...ignored my stop loss and lived to see the horrible drop last week.
LOL ETHEL

doughboy66 - 23 Aug 2005 17:23 - 35 of 49

Would we be chucking good money after bad if we averaged down our holdings?

The company states at the bottom of RNS ( NMI Security Limited expects to grow substantially over the coming months)

Also RNS issued about holdings in company.
Eden Capital Fund holds 132,150,000 ordinary shares in New Media Industries (representing 26.4% of issued share capital) following its acquistion of 100,000,000 shares in the recent placing.

ethel - 26 Oct 2005 15:27 - 36 of 49

What on earth is happening to the sp,especially after the recent RNS about the collaboration with GE?
For the past weeks it seems that the sp has been manipulated solely by the mms.Can someone put me out of my misery? This company seems to be going the same way as Planestation, which I owned shares in......oh dearie me.
Thanks,
Ethel

bristlelad - 26 Oct 2005 19:41 - 37 of 49

hi ethel WELLCOME to the club////

ethel - 27 Oct 2005 08:57 - 38 of 49

I really had hopes for this company and am surprised at the lack of support from the market.
They gained some pretty impressive contracts quite early on:i.e.Prince Charles's wedding and I thought that after the cash raising had finished diluting the sp everything would accelerate and there might be Olympic contracts in the future.
But this situation makes me think that management want to take the company private.Any ideas,Bristlelad?Nice to know that I'm not the ONLY fool who bought these!!
LOL Ethel

davepyle - 28 Nov 2005 15:39 - 39 of 49

anyone have any news on these or opinion from the implications of recent rns'
?

ethel - 13 Dec 2005 11:49 - 40 of 49

What is obvious with this share is the lack of decent bounce up on good news. There has to be an improvement in the sp if NMI gets work on the London Underground up-grading the security system.Only question is the contracts and how they are worded,i.e. payment arrangements.
NMI have recently raised more cash, maybe investors feel a further dilution of share value is possible through further fund raising in the near future.
Whatever,I feel that the sp is presently too low and hope that investors take note of this company which has serious intentions to be a major player in the security surveillance business in Europe.
DYOR and LOL

Kamala55 - 14 Jan 2006 04:00 - 42 of 49

Hello, nice to to be back,i see not much happening apart from 1.40 sales are needed here like i said, one thing i know is our local council are looking into upgrading their systems after a bit of agro in town, shopping centre i know this because i have contacts within the shopping centre may be worth passing on on approaching the centre manager.

Northampton.

new fool - 01 Jun 2006 18:23 - 43 of 49

I have bought into this share at a low level, i have put my belief in the product, although they have many rivals in the market. As i was told this is the next big thing, think how many security cameras there are in a city centre, this is new tecnology with general motors behind them ,will be like swapping your old vcd for a dvd. Only take abit of time for the big fishes to catch on.I HOPE

new fool - 02 Jun 2006 15:32 - 44 of 49

Not bad 6% in one day lets get laughing, the figs for the company are good and will only get better, you been to a casino, look at their security system this company is bringing it mainstream, at low cost, tecnology not new , but patened, happy times ahead, WAIT AND SEE.

doughboy66 - 02 Jun 2006 18:33 - 45 of 49

You are a fool if you think this going anywhere look at the history of the company constantly diluting shareholder value.Yes i once did believe it had potential who wouldn`t given some of the clients they have had in the past and current security climate .
Good luck you will need it
