I don't think you'll wait in vain, WD.
When I first bought in, the tip came from someone who qualified it by saying, put them in a drawer and let your grandkids thank you for it.
My regret is I bought in too early and I am too stupid to forget about them.
We are used to a diet of massive contract promises and huge sales potential, and we are naturally disappointed by the results. But as you say, deep down we expected no other.
If you were nuetral, you may look at these results and think the company had slashed cash burn, was slowly increasing turnover, was a partner in a business that is observably growing, has plans to recruit more staff to cope with expected increase in demand, has enough cash to stay liquid for some considerable time, is in discussions with customers who are interested and has an old established product stream to fall back on if things are just too slow.
On the negative side it is losing money and has a product that has its problems from the customers perspective, its patents are being challanged and the market looks to become more competative than ever.
I am happy with my holding and the position at the moment. Of course I'd like answers, and I will not get them. I'd like an announcement that the whole world is buying into Biotec, but I won't get that either. What I think we will get is proper trials with real retailers this year, one or two orders and a good increase in Biotec sales through SPhere and others.
Perhaps if the SP had advanced from 0.2 to 0.6 AFTER the results, we would all have read them differently.
Anyway, what do I care? Its your brass, all of you, and it doesn't make the slightest difference to me whether you are in or out. But I'll stay in for some time yet. I'm just not ready to increase.
Alan

Sphere are looking to suppliers other than Biotec for their bioplastics - doesn't give me much confidence that Novamont's claims are unfounded.

SEO may be confident the dispute will be settled (in a year or two, they say!), but Sphere are obviously less confident or they'd still be using Biotec.

In response to driver's moans....this stock moves up or down on a nothing rumour... I'm just trying to guess which way this bleated stock will go....could be .2p.... or on a whim of buying it could go up to 1p or more...could be over 2p at the end of the year....like many other people I,m trying to make a buck or two...I feel sorry for those that have bought in at 10p plus and are still in but with the stockmarket things move fast...making any sense out of this company takes some doing....at the moment I'd say things do not look promising !

rf - You have a tendency to omit the capital letter at the beginning of your sentences - hanging offence in my opinion!

Fred1new - 16 Mar 2008 17:05 - 26224 of 27111

RF, Tolerance is a marvelous attribute!

This is from somebody who was/is dyslexic.

Oblo,

Re: post 26218, you state that "Sphere are looking to suppliers other than Biotec for their bioplastics" where did you get that from?

required field - 17 Mar 2008 07:55 - 26226 of 27111

Everybody...SEO can wait.... check out AEX this morning !

oblomov - 17 Mar 2008 08:27 - 26227 of 27111

garyble,

From the prelims on Friday (4th para under Strategy)-

'Inevitably, this has caused SPhere to reduce the
volume purchased from Biotec somewhat.'

http://production.investis.com/seo/regnews/rnsitem?id=1205478154nRNSN0977Q

I assume from that they're getting what they need elsewhere - they wouldn't stop production until the patent dispute with Novamont is settled (1 or 2 years at the least) , would they?

Also from the prelims - 'We are advised that the proceedings are at an early stage and a judgment is not expected for a year or two at least.'

Thats what I meant by saying the patents dispute would finish SEO off - 2 years at least during which Sphere will go elsewhere and possibly set up arrangements they'll stay with after the dispute is settled. Biotec could be fatally injured by this dispute. IMO, whether in the right or not.

And during that period the promissory notes may come home to roost! Biotec will need something to keep them afloat, Sphere may want SEO to settle the debt to help do that.

garyble - 17 Mar 2008 08:53 - 26228 of 27111

Thanks Oblo,

Certainly worst case scenario and good to have that as a reasonably possible outcome.

From past performance {BPRG CC} SEO were very upbeat with their "defend rigorously" etc, ect.... Then had to pay 1m plus share the patent(s), so I'm not at all confident about this current patent dispute with Novamont.

garyble - 17 Mar 2008 08:59 - 26229 of 27111

Can't they get it right?:

http://www.packagingnews.co.uk/news/790880/Stanelco-results-hit-project-closure/

"The company's share price fell 11p to reach 68p following the results announcement"...we wish!

tweenie - 17 Mar 2008 09:23 - 26230 of 27111
