Some nice movement today, not before time? With 8500bopd now being produced
and a contract with Transneft agreeing to allow oil into its pipeline the SP has been a bit slow to react.

investors and markets are nervous of russian bureaucratic greed and corruption, and not without reason ...... similar applies to POG

niceonecyril - 24 Oct 2007 10:27 - 268 of 896

Yes thats true and also the tax is so punishing, probably making $17 a barrel at the moment? For my part i have exit price which i believe is very achievable?
The best hope for a serious rerating would be their asset in Kazakhstan, which
should have been spudded last month(no conformation)and results by the end of the year. Interesting point regarding the drilling of the North Torgai field, comes from their web site, they are unable to determine the boundaries? Now what does that mean exactly?

Well a nice ride today hit 12 with 18million traded, which might mean some good news is around the corner?IEC seems to be a leaky share with a rise prior to good news.
A worry is that Mitvol raises his ugly head again, which seems to happen
following a hike in the SP?
Hope the contract with Transneft will have helped to smooth things over. Interesting to see what comes tomorrow?

BUY recommendation in Telegraph this morning ..... don't quite understand what lies behind the RNS blanche has posted above

blanche - 01 Nov 2007 09:44 - 280 of 896

IMO If somebody is prepared to buy 25% of the company then somebody thinks this is undervalued. Who knows we could grow into a multi billion dollar company one day, would be a pretty good investment then.

cynic - 01 Nov 2007 09:50 - 281 of 896

i did not understand where the bit about enlarged share capital came from nor the reason why IEC should offer a huge slab at a discount ..... do you?

meanwhile, i suspect the shares will now suffer some reaction along with the rest of the markets, even if only because sp has had such a strong run recently that profit-taking may easily outweigh new buyers

Gazprom believed to be the interested party?
Looks a shrewed move,i suppose the burning question at what price? However in
the long term, stability will undoubtably be a major advantage and with it a revaluing of the reserves(perhaps they believe D&G's figures?).Don't know what it will open up tomorrow but i will be very interested to find out.

Kicking some figures around,
51,121,161 shares in issue. Now using the figure 173m(Times)
At 12/share(discount) 173/12=14,416,667
51,121,161+14,416,667 = 65,537828
Present M/Cap = 13.31*51121161 = 680,000,000.
680m + 173m = 853m/65,537828 = 13 per share
AT 10/share we get 68,421,161 shares(17.3m + 51m)
853/68.4m = 12.5 per share
Against the reduced share price, what will the security given from such a deal
mean? And of course theirs the question of the reserves(which seem to have been manipulated recently?),will the D &G become more exceptable and at what value
per barrel (at present little more than $1 a barrel)?
Time will give us the answers, but we're in for a very interesting period.
