Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

I can't see thread names with my firewall enabled ( Norton internet Security 2002

hilary - 19 Dec 2002 18:06 - 274 of 7315

Jumpin,

I've got a Norton firewall 2003 and I've got no problems on this site. Funnily enough, I did have a problem with Sardines Plaice and I couldn't see anything at all. I'd been registered there for over a week before it occured to me.

:-)

Try clicking on "options" then click the "web content" tab. "Add" the moneyam.com site then adjust the "user settings" for the site.

There is a problem when two stockwatch pages open in different windows in non streaming mode. After refreshing one if you refresh the other then you get the same page as the first. This is mentioned on the Beta Stockwatch thread.

What about an auto refresh on the stockwatch page every 60 seconds.

ChaosT - 19 Dec 2002 18:22 - 276 of 7315

I notice that we have a text verison of the Stockwatch.

Is that likely to remain - and in the same eventual 'position' when we go live?

Freeloaders (which i was forced to become) on AFN can now no longer get stockwatch in table format during open hours. A bitch for my little Excel program.

Saying just the other day, how bizzar it is that just 12 - 18 months ago the PBB were begging for streaming and AFN were saying 'its gonna cost ya!' - Now, you can't get rid of the thing for love nor money! You have to pay EXTRA not to get it! Bizzar.

Hiya,

New bulletin board is in place now, and the site should be fully up and working!

If you experience any problems, please post to the Bugs thread and not this one (I wont be monitoring this thread any more!)

When on the StockWatch page for the first time, please hold control while you click refresh (IE users) to ensure that you load the new java applet.

Thanks.

J.

Mike,

Havent been able to go through all the discussions on this thread, so i do not know if it has already been suggested. But is it possible to have the following?

1. A box that leads to discussions on particular stock.
2. Alerts to be sent to mobile phones in addition to email address.

Meantime it is looking to be very promising

Gazza - 19 Dec 2002 19:00 - 279 of 7315

Hi Guys,
Just like old times eh! Thanks for lettimg me in Croc/Mike.

tullettj,
Where/What is the bugs thread if this isn't it?
Is there a list of forthcoming functions/facilities somewhere. What about data downloads for example?

Regards
Gazza.

Jumpin - 19 Dec 2002 19:26 - 280 of 7315

hilary, I tried that and enabled everything for the site and it is still the same

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 19 Dec 2002 20:06 - 281 of 7315

Bola,

With regards to your alerts to mobile phones.

Most mobile providers offer and email to sms gateway, where emails can be sent to your phone via sms. Once this is set up, you use that address in your alerts profile.

Big outage just now for half an hour or more.

Apologies, it might have been me, I was testing my "trans-manche magnetic software shield" it works. I am able to switch it on with a web site target and am able to stall the network connections for up to 45 minutes. A success, just trying at the other place :-)

Pedro - 19 Dec 2002 21:12 - 283 of 7315

hmmm. Started up MoneyAm for the first time todat after a reboot last night and got the home page and BB without requiring a login name or password. It wasn't until I selected a post on the BB that I was asked for the user name and password.

Karl,

Stop it, you are making me laugh too much, it hurts.

Cheers

Peds
I think that's how they have set it up sort of teaser for anyone coming to the site.

TullettJ,

>With regards to your alerts to mobile phones.
>Most mobile providers offer and email to sms gateway, where emails can be sent >to your phone via sms. Once this is set up, you use that address in your >alerts profile.

I've got that setup for an Orange mobile , but I just receive the email Subject line and text saying "You have email from [x]". Could you put the Alert Text into the Subject line as well please. Then I don't need an email prog to go and read the email :-)

TIA

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 19 Dec 2002 21:37 - 287 of 7315

Pedro,

You can access the home page and the BB threads list, however you will notice at the top it says 'not logged in' (or something similar), this is, as Martini wrote, a teaser for non subscribed users...

BrianTrayda,
Ill forward your request to Bullshare and the development team to see what they say. To me it seems like a good suggestion :)

Addo,
Yes, there was a slight outage, im not sure quite how long it lasted, but I was patching our database servers in light of some security issues that have been released recently. I will give more warning in future if I can, but I felt these were serious enough to be done immediately (vendor fixes these are...)

Im off home now, got a hard day of building RAID arrays and beefy database servers tomorrow.

Night,

J.

Now you're back ... :-)

Another email/sms Alert option that is a must is FREQUENCY. That is: how many times per hour to send. The FT has such a system (but not cheap) and only sends [n] msgs per alert. If you set a mid price alert and it bounces around that once every few seconds you end up getting hundreds of alerts/sms for the same thing.

robber - 19 Dec 2002 21:43 - 289 of 7315

Ah the 'back to list' button has appeared.

thanks

MightyMicro - 20 Dec 2002 00:26 - 290 of 7315

robber: You're welcome. I like that button too.

Re all the requests about mobile stuff and so on. We have the technology, but the roll-out priorities and policies and so on are up to my esteemed colleague Bullshare and the team at Shares/MoneyAM. By all means make your desires (at least the printable ones) known to them, it's a matter of what they can schedule and when. This site is so successful that we've almost been overwhelmed.
