Lambykins's Dutch Coffee House - ADULTS ONLY (LAMB)

Spaceman - 28 Jan 2005 23:56

CLOSED - THANKS to all customers for the last few years

Priscilla - 29 Jan 2005 23:14 - 28 of 24230

I thought it was Mary Poppins on speed, jj!

STORMCALLER - 30 Jan 2005 00:37 - 29 of 24230

Spaceman,
Thought I'd take the liberty of a pre-opening perusal, very impressed, compulsory smoking area is a nice touch, hope this will become a haven from any children (accompanied or otherwise) as I assume they will be barred entirely!!
Post modernist space utilisation is amazing, but do the ladies really need a powder room that big! I only ask on grounds that they tend to turn up in the old place so beautifully prepared, but perhaps you know best. I only hope they wander in here, previous comments seem to offer hope in that respect, some well known, and much loved, early visitors.
Better leave now don't want to delay final prep!

Socrates - 30 Jan 2005 09:34 - 30 of 24230

I was just wandering around and I found the boys equivalent of the ladies powder room. You can get a massage in there, if you are brave enough. The new person employed for it was in there last night, Swedish, blonde, six foot six inches tall and just as wide. Biceps like tree trunks and built like the proverbial brick out-house. Last job was lifting containers off and onto trucks and a temperament like a Challenger Tank. Be very careful what you say to her.

chocolat - 30 Jan 2005 10:43 - 31 of 24230

Why, what did you say to her Socks?

Socrates - 30 Jan 2005 11:02 - 32 of 24230

I'm a gentleman, I couldn't say.

Spaceman - 30 Jan 2005 11:13 - 33 of 24230

Stormcaller, glad you like the place, lots more rooms to open yet, space isnt a problem here. We spoke to the ladies and they said powder rooms cant ever be big enough and thats why they have so much space, incidently they also have an infinte number of loos available as they were complaing that there wernt enough is some clubs.

Re Children are only allowed in when accompanied by a responsible adult but there is an unpublished rule that bars responsible adults from membership so we should be pretty safe there !

Thats would have been Olga in the massage room, dont worry she is just setting the place up, We have 6 swedish models on the full time massage staff.

Slightly surprised you missed the signs on the fith floor where the smoking area is, they should say smoking compulsory throughout the building other than where it isnt, I better have a word with the workmen.

Well must go lots to do before we open.

See you all later.

Socrates - 30 Jan 2005 11:36 - 34 of 24230

Oh dear, if smoking is compulsory that's me turning in my membership.

MightyMicro - 30 Jan 2005 11:38 - 35 of 24230

Spaceman:

You new frontage is perfect, rather like Olga's. The TARDIS effect certainly seems to work. Thanks for the sneak preview, still plenty to explore. I don't smoke myself, so I can't be sure, but some of that smoke smells, well, a bit odd.

I'm feeling a little lightheaded, perhaps I better get a breath of fresh air.

snoball - 30 Jan 2005 11:38 - 36 of 24230

Have a cigar Socs.

chocolat - 30 Jan 2005 11:42 - 37 of 24230

I shouldn't worry too much about that, Socks...

I think your hand is on fire.

hilldee - 30 Jan 2005 12:26 - 38 of 24230

Hey Socrates. I see you have met with Mother!!!

Socrates - 30 Jan 2005 12:36 - 39 of 24230

Met? Perhaps collided is a better description.

Spaceman - 30 Jan 2005 12:45 - 40 of 24230

Socs, you missed the bit about it being compusory throughout the building EXCEPT WHERE IT ISNT.

And it isnt compulsory anywhere other than where it is, hope thats cleared it up a bit. ;-)

A non smoking Spaceman.

Derek, you found that room did you, was the booth in the corner manned?

Socrates - 30 Jan 2005 12:54 - 41 of 24230

Clear as mud.

OK folks, since it's a bit chilly and this place is not yet officially open I've got a charcoal brazier going out back. So get your coats on and come out with me. I've got some nice long toasting forks, rolls and sausages so we can have an impromtu barbie and make genuine boy scout hot dogs. They taste so much better made that way, it's the self-satisfaction and achievement that does it.

chocolat - 30 Jan 2005 13:01 - 42 of 24230

Oooer Socks, there's nowt like a bit of al fresco.

Socrates - 30 Jan 2005 13:17 - 43 of 24230

Choccy, that's very true.

Golddog - 30 Jan 2005 20:23 - 44 of 24230

The door swings open.

poochy stands by the door and looks in.

chocolat - 30 Jan 2005 20:25 - 45 of 24230

Think you'd better go and find Olga
....or was it Olaf?

Golddog - 30 Jan 2005 20:29 - 46 of 24230

Have you been drinking chocy?

Golddog - 30 Jan 2005 21:14 - 47 of 24230

I'm coming in here for some light relief.
