Reuters - "Shares in AIM-listed ReneSola slide 6.6 percent to 110.25 pence after the Chinese-based manufacturer of solar wafers fails to provide the market with adequate 2009 guidance alongside its 2008 third quarter results on Wednesaday, citing market uncertainty.
'ReneSola's results send mixed messages to the market. The market has limited patience in the current environment, so -- despite the strong third quarter results -- the lack of visibility for 2009 will have an overriding effect on the stock,' says Ambrian analyst Puja Bharadia."

Harry it is no coincidence that as the price of oil falls the solar shares fall and all the green issues will go out of the window.

Chinese solar wafer manufacturer ReneSola has signed a $117 million five-year project loan agreement with China Construction Bank.
"We are pleased to announce that we've secured additional financing for our Sichuan polysilicon manufacturing facility," said Charles Bai, ReneSola's chief financial officer.
"The agreement, combined with previously acquired financing, provides ReneSola with approximately 90% of the capital necessary to fund the project to completion."

ReneSola warns of Q4 loss - MoneyAM
Chinese solar wafer maker ReneSola Ltd warned it would post a net loss of around $125m-$130m for the fourth quarter, as falling prices forced it to make massive write-downs on its assets.
For the quarter, ReneSola expects to record write-downs of around $130m-$140 against the net realisable value of inventories, it said, blaming falling prices for both its finished solar wafers and feedstock such as polysilicon and scrap silicon.
There was some good news though, as ReneSola said it expected net revenues and production output to come in at or above the high end of its previous guidance for both Q4 2008 and the full year.
It now expects net revenues for Q4 to range $157m-$159 and production output of around 112 megawatts. For 2009, Renesola expects net revenue to range $650m-$700m and production output to reach 620-670 megawatts.
The competitiveness and popularity of solar energy should rise exponentially as solar generated electricity nears grid parity, said CEO Xianshou Li. Despite recent challenges we remain confident in the mid- to long-term prospects of the industry and believe that ReneSola is well positioned to ride out the storm through our continual focus on cost reduction, prudent expansion in line with market demand, solid cash position and significant pre-sold output for the year.
