How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Nice to see Styles as consistent as ever - Scholes is allowed to kick the back of Reyes calves all day and stay yet he feels the need to send Reyes off with 1 second to go

Teddy Sheringham quote of the day - "I think Man Utd have edged it over the 120 minutes"

The rose tinted specs have it now.

Dear Mr Styles,

Man United without a trophy, Who would have guessed it.

bakko - 21 May 2005 17:47 - 2837 of 10502

Robbed!

Well done to Arsenal.

Harsh on Man Utd, by far the better side on the day got beat

Still, FA CUP WINNERS 2005 ARSENAL sounds good to be

Fundamentalist - 21 May 2005 17:48 - 2839 of 10502

Spot on bakko, but the amount of chances you had to not score was criminal - reminds me of the final we had against liverpool a few years back where we battered them and lost

Harlosh - 21 May 2005 17:53 - 2840 of 10502

We woz robbed alright.

Scripophilist - 21 May 2005 17:54 - 2841 of 10502

Must be difficult for Man U fans to lose that one.

People just seem to chase money nowadays.

Fundamentalist - 23 May 2005 23:03 - 2844 of 10502

scrip

i laid at 1.06 but greened up far too quickly but also backed the draw at 11.0 with a few mins to go so happy (apart from the dismal performance)

Scripophilist - 23 May 2005 23:11 - 2845 of 10502

There was quite a bit of chatter on the forums. All sparked off by somebody saying there was some free money on offer. ROFL!

Scripophilist - 23 May 2005 23:13 - 2846 of 10502

What price did they start the evening at?

Fundamentalist - 23 May 2005 23:24 - 2847 of 10502

scrip

missed first 20 mins and laid them as soon as i came in and they were losing and at 1.06 - guessing they must have been 1.01/1.02 before match as they never led in the game so pre game must be the only time 1.01 can have been backed

Fundamentalist - 24 May 2005 15:15 - 2848 of 10502

Bakko

if youre trading the agassi match, he is injured and looks like he'll struggle to last the match

Fundamentalist - 24 May 2005 15:19 - 2849 of 10502

Nice and green now having laid Agassi

Bakko - this tennis lark is easy -watch until a guy goes lame and then pile in - what do i do when both players stay fit???

Would be interested if you would post your trades during the french open to try and get a better handle of how you are trading the tennis

Fundamentalist - 24 May 2005 15:38 - 2850 of 10502

Just backed nimenen at 1.22 half way through second game in final set, green at 1.01 after 3 rd game :-)

now glad the horses are awful to trade this pm - only reason i turned over to the tennis lol
