Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Pedro,

You can access the home page and the BB threads list, however you will notice at the top it says 'not logged in' (or something similar), this is, as Martini wrote, a teaser for non subscribed users...

BrianTrayda,
Ill forward your request to Bullshare and the development team to see what they say. To me it seems like a good suggestion :)

Addo,
Yes, there was a slight outage, im not sure quite how long it lasted, but I was patching our database servers in light of some security issues that have been released recently. I will give more warning in future if I can, but I felt these were serious enough to be done immediately (vendor fixes these are...)

Im off home now, got a hard day of building RAID arrays and beefy database servers tomorrow.

Night,

J.

Now you're back ... :-)

Another email/sms Alert option that is a must is FREQUENCY. That is: how many times per hour to send. The FT has such a system (but not cheap) and only sends [n] msgs per alert. If you set a mid price alert and it bounces around that once every few seconds you end up getting hundreds of alerts/sms for the same thing.

Ah the 'back to list' button has appeared.

thanks

MightyMicro - 20 Dec 2002 00:26 - 290 of 7315

robber: You're welcome. I like that button too.

Re all the requests about mobile stuff and so on. We have the technology, but the roll-out priorities and policies and so on are up to my esteemed colleague Bullshare and the team at Shares/MoneyAM. By all means make your desires (at least the printable ones) known to them, it's a matter of what they can schedule and when. This site is so successful that we've almost been overwhelmed.

tullettj ,

Thanks. I will try to work that out.

rjmahan - 20 Dec 2002 08:23 - 293 of 7315

For me streaming is broken and could you have a login like ADVFN's or some cookie to autoremember cos I hate unnecessary typing.

stable - 20 Dec 2002 08:26 - 294 of 7315

I cannot get my stockwatch, asks me to refresh, i do, nothing happens apart from being asked to refresh. Worked ok before this am

Bullshare - 20 Dec 2002 08:28 - 295 of 7315

Stable: see message on BB;-0) Streamers are offline at present while we put some new software on. Use the turn streaming off button(on right of that page) and the html version works fine.

Hiya,

Streamer servers have been refreshed, so you can all start getting streaming services now.

sorry for the interruption this morning.

?

jeffmack - 20 Dec 2002 10:51 - 300 of 7315

Dont know if these have already been suggested, but some things I like from A...

Monitor
Memo to make a note about a stock
Dividing up with headers for Indices, Equities, US Stocks (if you do them)

NewsMon
I like to track posts by certain users

Would be nice if you could choose which pages you want to auto refresh, like the traders thread rather than having to manual refresh each time.

Jeroo - 20 Dec 2002 12:32 - 301 of 7315

Have you finalised the layout regarding selecting options at the top of the page? If not, can I suggest using a menu applet like these http://www.apycom.com/apmenu/index.html They save on screen real estate and keep all the options in one place in a very neat and tidy way! I've used them before on sites that I have designed and these applets behave very well.

Also, how about a frame at the top of the page with the options menu inside this frame so that web site options were always available even when scrolling down wards - really handy when reading longer pages.

Tell me to shut up if this is not the sort of enhancements your looking for :)

Jeroo - 20 Dec 2002 12:37 - 302 of 7315

jeffmack - Auto Refreash: 'cuse for poking in nose here but have you considered the Opera browser? It has preset and user definable auto refreash options. I use it and it works a treat!

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 20 Dec 2002 13:39 - 303 of 7315

Jeroo,

Dont use the beta version, it has a number of security holes in it, and you are advised to use the 6.05 version (check bugtraq for more information)

J

Jeroo - 20 Dec 2002 13:51 - 304 of 7315

tullettj,

Thanks my friend - I'm using 6.05 at present but I registered v7 as it's on special offer right now - v7 has got quite a few bugs in it hasn't it! Still, I love it's browsing speed - I wouldn't go back to the *others* at all.

bonsai - 20 Dec 2002 14:00 - 305 of 7315

do you use same software as Sardine ?
when I tile my windows, the thread titles double/triple line
please fix

MightyMicro - 20 Dec 2002 14:39 - 306 of 7315

bonsai: No, this BB was written from scratch by IST. Problem noted, I'll flog the engineers until we have a solution.
