As you can see, we have put the new bulletin boards live.

The migration went smoothly, though it look at little longer than I expected it to!

If you notice any problems on the boards, please post below.

I've just switched to IE and the problem is more prounounced that with FF.

I don't really know what could be done about that?

Don't know, I guess it must be something in the HTML. I've tried to disable images and it still does it so it's not the actual image loading. You could try specifying the height and width of each image explicitly so that it can display the page correctly before loading the images. The other suspect is the Vertical align:middle.

Another idea, some images are 18x18 and others 25x25. Perhaps making them all 18x18 would help.

I may have been wrong about the amount of postings going down it was just my observation, it is a bit of a pain though having to search for a B/Board using the epic search each time.

JT: I don't know the correct way to express this, but threads I read pretty regularly always started from the last post I had read when I next visited. Now that's not the case. I know I'm getting old but I can remember I've already read that lot. Can we revert to the previous system, please?

But did you consider my suggestion to open a link in a new window?

I've just hurt myself on those pins... must be more careful while cleaning the monitor.

The jumping to your first unread post didn't 'always' happen; it was an enhancement that I added when these new boards went live ;)

Unfortunately that stopped working with some other changes that needed implementing, but I'm working on getting it back again.

Re Priscilla's #309 and your reply #312, in "the good ol' days" accessing a thread jumped you to the last post you had read - ie, the last post read was displayed as the first post next time you went to that thread. This gave you a little reminder of where you were, and also confidence that you hadn't missed anything.

The new system (prior to the present fault) takes you to the first unread post. A number of posters requested a return to the old way, to which your (AM) answer was that you could tell where you were from the post numbers.

It is virtually impossible to remember post numbers when accessing many threads several times a day, whereas a reminder of the last post read was invaluable.

Please consider returning to that method.
