OK temporary accomodation for us ex-pats of Spacie's coffee house that is sadly now boarded up and in memory of Goldie's old pad the tearooms.
No fancy stuff, as this is temporary until we find a nice new place but it's warm down here with the fire and aga and I've organised a daily guinness, lager and wine delivery. There is a small kitchen in the corner and a few comfy cosy armchairs.
So feel free to take refuge when you need a break - self-service generally I'm afraid but when I can I'll rustle up a meal :>)
I have it on reasonable authority (a mature medic of my auld acquaintance) that the current limits of 21 units/week for men, 14 units/week for women ("and a small sherry for the lady") were guesswork with very little scientific input. That's right, the limits were made up.
Most people lie to their medics about their alcohol consumption ("I can't remember, do you divide by 2 or 3"), so the source data is rubbish.
Individual metabolism, general health, diet, all play their part. I've had some fascinating conversations with different medics on the subject - they are consistent in their inconsistency.
