David Anderson (CROCODILE)

Bullshare - 25 May 2004 10:53

It is with deep regret I have to inform everyone that Dave Anderson(Crocodile) sadly passed away last night in his sleep.

This is a complete shock to all his family and friends, therefore can I ask everyone to respect their privacy and not phone his home etc.

David was the most likable and open person I have ever met and a huge friend of mine and MoneyAMs.

Whatever I post will never come near doing justice to this great man, so I will simply stop here.

Mike

20.13 I have had a few brief conversations with David's family today. Despite all that has happened they have managed to briefly log onto MoneyAm and seen the numerous postings. I know they are moved by the response. The family are in the process of organising David's funeral but matters are slightly complicated with the Bank Holiday weekend. I will post more in due course when I have some more information.

26 May :I have received many many e-mails with offers of help and offers of sympathy. Many thanks for all these and apologises if I have not been able to reply but I will get round to it. I will also make sure those that have asked me to pass on any messages to Davids family get sent on.

In the meantime I know many of you are wondering what happened. At this stage it is not for me to go into details but suffice to say it is of a natural cause and totally unexpected.

David had withdrawn a little from the site over the last few weeks as he felt he wanted to devote more time to looking after Maria who is very poorly. Although he did not post much in the day I do know he was constantly logging on. He still continued to burn the midnight oil to create each day traders thread and he would spend about 15 hours each weekend creating the Weekend/Monday thread.

16.34 26/May Have come off the phone from Rachel(David's daughter). Today is not an easy day for the family, I think they were so busy yesterday that today has been harder as it has had time to sink in. We talked about Funeral arrangements and Rachel mentioned that they could not book anything yet but will let me know as soon as possible. She mentioned once again about all the postings which they have been busy reading and thank everyone for all the kind words and thoughts. They will arrange a public funeral as they know a lot of people would like to attend.

A message from David's Family:(posted on David's website Snappytrader.com)

I wish I had known him, he was obviously one of a rare breed of decent human beings! I would have taken note of his advice 'stop kicking it when it makes funny noises as it really won't fix the problem', had I done so my computer would not be broken nor my toes!😃

E*Trade (who are a US broker) withdrew from the UK after the 2008 financial crisis. Their product in the UK was white label Saxo so it didn't make much difference. I used Saxo until just a few months ago for CFD's

Thanks CC.

Great man.

No more words required.

Like many others I enjoyed meeting Croc and learned from him. Another gent who helped me but whom I did not meet in person was you, Big Al. It was always good to hear from you, thank you, I shall miss MAM

Bought my first digital camera on a recommendation from Croc.
Somehow trusted his judgement over all the others.

Big Al - 05 Feb 2019 22:23 - 318 of 321

Hope your doing fine, Jean. I doubt I could ever have helped as much as David helped so many, but thanks.

MB I think it was a few weeks before his passing as if I remember correctly, it was when met you at his home.

I have many fond memories as he was such a lovely person.

Bullshare - 08 Feb 2019 11:32 - 320 of 321

Sorely missed. What an amazing gent. I was lucky to have gone into business with him for a short time (TraderPC), we had some fun!

Quite a few of us BB'ers were able to attend his funeral and we left a very apt flower tribute from all the MoneyAM Bb'ers.

But as with everything to do with Dave, life was not simple but always amusing, catch me or Martini over a beer one day and we will tell you a yarn or two about the funeral :-)

Very cool croc tribute photo, just like the man himself! He was always there if you needed him, encouraging and putting a positive word in. Helped many of us in the early days of MAM when computers were much less user friendly. Certainly helped dig me out of a few holes! Never forgotten.
