And yes it is an odd poll...Which means it wasn't a true one, by the fact it was before camerons failed 'reforms' negotiations, they were asked if he came back with SUBSTANTIAL reforms would they vote to remain...
GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT...Haystack.

Well as a long term inhabitant of southern England, even before the bizzare rise of UKIP, it was clear that Essex and Kent contained redneck racists.

Haystack ,your way out of line calling anyone who thinks Farage has got immigration right a racist.
Grannyboy ,Fred is just plain stupid ,about as daft as a brush . For him anyone who doesn't want to open the UK up to the whole world is Hitler .

Fred1 its pretty damn obvious that YOU are one of those liberal lefties who hate anything ENGLISH, you despise anyone who wants to retain some kind of Englishness.
If anyone should say no more to open mass immigration they are accussed of being a racist, if anyone says we should LEAVE the EU we're 'Little Englanders'...
IT'S YOU AND THE REST OF THE SOCIALIST, BLEEDING HEART LIBERALS LEFTIES THAT ARE THE FACIST!!!...

Farage is a rabble rouser. He appeals to the lowest common denominator in society. UKIP is essentially two parties. Part of the party is about the EU and part is about immigration. Each part attracts different people. Many UKIPers support leaving the EU because of immigration. The party clearly has a racist core. That is not to say to say all of the supporters are racist. It is not a viable long term party but is a pressure group. There are almost no policies beyond the EU and immigration. It appeals to people who are unhappy about those things.
It represents the UK's version of the rise of right wing parties across Europe. This phenomenon has occured before and is a reaction to a reccession. If we were in a boom, no one would care about UKIP.

UKIP got about 12% of the votes at the GE. I would think that more than 12% of the population are racist. I guess that the rest didn't vote UKIP or at all.

================
Hays i don't care if we are in boomtime or bust , we can not keep taking in hundreds of thousands of immigrants each year ,it's not rocket science .
I didn't vote UKIP but if supporting Farages stance on immigration makes me a racist then i am.

i'ld put in another way .....
in good times, everyone pretty much rubs along happily enough, and there is little traction for nationalist or other radical groups
in the bad times, the mirror image appears as we have seen

What a cnut "its the rise of the right, its a reaction to ression' .... I keep getting told the UK is thriving...
Both Haystack and Fred1 have made accusation which they cannot substantiate..They are LYING SCUM who, just like those pro eu sycophants LIE through their back teeth in their efforts deceive and LIE to the voters of the UK...
Cnuts like haystack who believe UKIP to be just a fringe party was proved wrong in the Euro elections and by the number who voted for UKIP, just like the establishment parties were shocked into giving the people a referendum..Without UKIP there would never have been one, and cameron committed himself to one because he didn't think he'd win the election last year...
Fred1 and Haystack are both lying dishourable shits......

that much is true jimmy, and i don't think there is any doubt that germany's recent open-door policy was sheer lunacy ....... by the time that door was shut again, albeit pretty smartly, it was already too late
however, the immigration issue is just one thread in the argument for brexit (or not)
as already posted, i have moved from being strongly for "in" to being 97% certain to vote "out"
