Thought I'd start a football blog, we might keep this going until 2010.....England doing well....did not see the match or even the goals....I'd like Michael owen back in the squad though....and I think Peter Crouch would make a very good substitute...remember against Argentina in Geneva a few years ago....with Michael Owen and some very good movements on and off the ball...they caused havoc.....did see Scotland's missed chance....that could be very costly losing those 2 points !.

RF - Talk to cashley and you'll soon find out why the gooners don't have english players
And advance congratulations to the mancs today for another title - can't argue that they've not deserved it this year

XST,

No actual value now for the reason in the link above by the looks of it, but if you have some capital gains this year I think that you might be able to claim nil-value relief against those SUF losses.
Never claimed nil-value myself but if you go to the HM taxes website they should have details.
When I last looked I found their explantion very complicated, perhaps someone who has some actual experience of nil-value claims might like to share it with us.
Better still start a thread on the subject.

Congratulations to ManU once again !, how about Arsenal or Villa signing Michael Owen, now there's a signing for you (if fit) and he's English !, oh ! sorry !, I forgot the Gunners only want the overseas lot, how on earth do Arsenal supporters relate to that team I just don't know ? It's time to bring in a maximum number in of around 5 foreigners per team....at the moment it's no longer an English side playing !.

Crunch day for the Magpies,...in a way they are lucky that Hull are entertaining Manu this afternoon.....so they might just do it.....Hull's position has just gone from bad to worse, when I think that they were near the top of the table at one time !.

Well ! : "Scoobydoo" Shearer could not keep the Magpies up.....and they will need some new blood to battle for promotion....if I was Micheal Owen I would leave !....anyway tonight is the night ! : drop your "Lady Gaga" albums for a moment and prepare for Barca-ManU....impossible to predict but should Manchester United triumph...that side will rank amongst the all time greats...we shall see...it won't be easy !.

Shame that Tevez and Berbatov were not on the field from the start......anyway let's hope that England can provide at least one finalist next year again....Barca have done the treble : well done to them !, but I reckon this year should have been Chelsea's...no luck at all that team...Barcelona at 5/1 to retain the Champions league...not such a good bet as somebody will beat them along the line, their defense relied as well as on good play as on a heck of a lot of good fortune !, still the same I love the quick short passing...if one or two of our sides could mingle this with the long passing and route 1 play, well who knows ? could be a good year for the "roses" next year !,...remember "1964" euhh ! perhaps not !, but Spain won the European Championships..."1966" Real Madrid won the European Cup followed by a period of English domination.....and what happened also in "1966" ?,...good omens possibly ?!. .

Personally I think it could quite well go to pens - everton were good against us a few weeks back, and tomorrow they'll be so hyped up that I can see us being under a lot of pressure

Chelsea 2-0, But of more interest what about Pompey "loads of money" looks like Sven's on his way. Judas Redknapp should have stayed around a bit longer.

More interest !!!!! Get real - maybe in Hampshire but the rest of the country is not so interested in your dealings.
The mistake you and many others (including our beloved media) make is that you genuinely think that money buys you success - you should talk to fans of Man City, Fulham, and Newcastle to get a second opinion.

Correct, but half of Hampshire are interested couldn't give a toss about Newcastle crap club and deluded fans. Fulham doing ok. Man City give it a year and they will come good.

Looks like its a 12 month wait then until the truth dawns on you.
Man City ain't gonna win a single trophy - guaranteed
Man City ain't gonna make the top 4 - guaranteed
Guess you'll now have to redefine what "come good" means

Well it's back to the national sides soon....Man City are soon going to look like the "Harlem Globe Trotters" (Basket Ball show team) with their big signings......talented but beatable at times !.
Joe Say

beatable at times - like every away game (08/09 lost 67% of away games ) , and one third of their home games !!!!
Maybe a slight improvement is coming in 09/10, but forget the Top 4, FA or Carling Cups - best they'll manage perhaps is a win over one of the top 4.

And they are not in the "Europa Cup" (I think that's the new name for the Uefa cup though I might be mistaken)....so that will probably be one of their main goals next year that is to get back into Europe and not qualifying this year must have been a blow !.

Well the Croatians were a little unlucky..twice they hit the right side goalpost....it'll be them or the Ukraine right to the end...whilst England will just stroll to qualification....Another thing is that Portugal and Sweden are struggling in their group....what ? no world cup without the Swedes.....? that's a surprise !, Denmark are almost there and Hungary are still in with a big chance !.....let's hope that Joe Cole, Michael Owen and sorts can all be fit and peak at next year's world cup...the thing is to create a good group like the Italians.....and keep the Wags at bay for 6 weeks or so next summer....come on the Lads you can do it !!!.
