no nothing heard . but i did find this piece on iii. copied it , nope the author doesnt mind but i think its interesting , although it doesnt tell us much that we do not already know.
"Just to clarify the court case and the future prospects (for those new to Stanelco). Rather than 'HOLD' I would have put 'Good Gamble' if it had been a choice.
The court proceedings were in fact issued by SEO seeking declaratory relief i.e. clarification of the ownership of three families of patents. BPRG claimed an interest (either full or joint) in three families of patent filed by SEO on the grounds that the patents were based on discoveries made by BPRG and disclosed under a non-disclosure agreement between the parties as part of a proposed joint project. The result of the court case was that SEO retained two of the patent families (Christopher Floyd QC The second and third families of claims involved a further inventive concept devised by Stanelco, which was not simply a refinement of the core concept, so that Stanelco but not Bioprogress was the inventor of those claims) and lost the third, BPRG being awarded outright ownership of the master patent that gives it exclusive worldwide rights to the process of making capsules from non gelatin materials by means of radio frequency (RF). However SEO are challenging the verdict on the third and have already stated that 'tray lidding technology is unaffected by the current patent dispute with BPRG and is now the major driver of future revenue within SEO's business'.
I quote from Hargreaveslansdown (Brough likes Stanelco's risk reward) Nov 6th 2004:
Schroder's A-rated star smaller companies manager Brough recently picked up 29 million Stanelco (SEO) shares at 4p despite the group's recent problems. @Stanelco has found a way of using RF technology to seal food packages, which at present are heat-sealed. Patents relating to this part of the business are separate to the family of patents BioProgress has claimed as its ownA number of big packaging firms, such as Grampian, are commercially testing the technology at the moment and Stanelco hopes large orders are not far off. The plan is to charge firms that have their packing machines converted to use Stanelco's technology about 35% of the cost savings on raw materials.
Management reckons this will be equivalent to approximately 35,000 per machine per year.
These revenues would be recurring and with about 25,000 tray-lidding machines (think of the packaging for a steak bought from the supermarket) and 20,000 termoformers (the flat packaging for smoke salmon from the supermarket) operating worldwide the market is big if the technology is as good as management boast.
This article was taken from the website www.citywire.co.uk.
Although it will be a blow if SEO fail to win the lost patent (as IMO they will) and will have to pay substantial costs, it will only affect the share price until the trials are completed. Then it will be the outcome of the tray sealing trials, and if successful, the subsequent take up of the technology by a major company, and further applications of the technology that will drive the share price. So its a gambledont put your pension on it."
so thats where he sold his shares.........

Re Court Case
In the latest development in its continuing dispute with BioProgress Technology
Limited, Stanelco RF Technologies Limited went back to court yesterday to argue
that evidence which had come to light within the last few weeks meant that the
court should reverse its finding of breach of confidence by Stanelco.
Stanelco's case was that the documents which had been found showed that the
information which BioProgress had argued at trial was confidential had actually
been in the public domain for over 40 years.
After a full day's hearing, the court reserved its judgement due to the
complexity of the issues which needed to be considered.
After the hearing, Ian Balchin, Chief Executive Officer of Stanelco, commented:
'We regard the fact that the court has needed to reserve its decision as an
indication of the seriousness of the point we've raised and its implications for
both parties. We look forward to receiving the court's decision. If Stanelco's
application is successful, we will not be liable to BioProgress at all in
respect of its claim for breach of confidence. If we don't succeed then, leaving
aside any costs issues, we'll be in just the same position as we are now'.

No i agree, but i think his comments again underline that an awareness of the possible worst case exists at SEO and they are not over concerned. Also i still think its already in the price which is why yet again any favourable news moves the price on.IMO

Way back on post96 I suggested >50p potential share price. Glad to see more people believe(hope) this possibility. Topped up again last week but held some funds back just in case we see 5p after the cc sorted. Lets hope for the ten bagger!! and possibly more. Earlier poster questioning profit from tray lidding, IT DOES THE JOB, IT SAVES MONEY, REDUCES TONNES PLASTIC, REDUCES PACKAGING/PRODUCT WASTE AND HAS THE BACKING OF THE RETAILERS WHO CAN AND DO SPECIFY TO THE PACKERS.It will make a lot of money once adopted, it may have a life-span but we could all make a killing over the next few years.
Asda trialling, possibly Sainsburys, can't wait for Tescos and Morrisons!! not forgetting the bio film, McDonalds?
So much potential!!!

good afternoon gents. i think this is quite wonderful. the judge has gone from being very anti seo , to reserving judgement.far from being done and dusted this could now very much swing our way. if it is proven that the info was in the public domain , then bprg cant claim the patent. neither can seo. have i read it wrong? does this only affect the claim against breach of confidentiality? oh dear , its all gone confusing again........

i agree totally that (TODAY) SEO could be a big winner for shareholders, but what if the packaging climate changes?
everyone and their mother is banging on about environmental issues these days.....am i the only one who thinks packaging is waaaaaaaaaaay overdone these days? a pound of mince comes in a vast polystyrene container for instance. i would personally prefer to buy in vacuum packed bags. ( forgive my ignorance as still on the sidelines with this one, but does SEO do that as well)?

Bosley, u were right! Who'd have thought after our conversation tuesday the news would come out over the court case as it did. Not that that bothered you either way. If you think about the amount of items packaged everyday especially at Asda for example , who make a lot of their own bread etc on premises, the potential is endless! Will there ever be a downturn in packaging? - I can't see it, we don't buy things that are not securely wrapped and sealed anymore! It keeps things fresher and shows they haven't been tampered with! The other benefit with SEO is they've just patented a new bio-degradable film for this process and as superrod says everyone is going on about that these days! 1.00 by next december perhaps?

quite happy and content that the price SEEMS to be stable at this level.i have a feeling that seo may have played a trump card last week in getting the judge to reconsider or hold off final judgement in the breach of contract part of seo's dispute with bprg.if the judge agrees that the information was indeed public knowledge for the last forty years it could change everything.things looking good at the moment.i have no idea who the mystery company is that seo is in talks with , and no idea when an announcement will be made.if anyone knows , speak up!one more bit of good news could push seo through to new highs and through resistance at7p.would be nice.......

Price is going down and large volume, something seems to be up wonder if they have heard about the court case results... Can't think what else might be driving price down...
