Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

required field - 04 Mar 2016 19:43 - 34 of 12628

Ok....time for a joke ; what's the difference between an African immigrant and a football ?.....answer : none : they both fit under a fast non stopping lorry.......

required field - 04 Mar 2016 19:50 - 35 of 12628

It's only a joke please don't fret..(freight)...get it.....aaaahhh..

required field - 04 Mar 2016 19:56 - 36 of 12628

(Well....if you think I'm resigning....think again.....).....

required field - 04 Mar 2016 20:09 - 37 of 12628

Seriously.....in a way : you have to feel sorry for these people : but they should not be trying to come to Europe and getting on the benfits/housing bandwagon....and they need to be discouraged in doing so.....people from the third world cannot and should not have the same expectations in life as us....and I'm afraid I do not want to see the British and Europeans all looking like a black and white minstrel show...I'm sorry but it's not colour prejudice.....it's just that Britain is a white country and should remain so in majority otherwise we will lose our national identity, our soul, our faith everything proud we stand for !...

Welcome to the latest recruit to the Alf Garnet supporters club.

required field - 04 Mar 2016 21:49 - 39 of 12628

It's just that we are being conditioned or trained/put down by our governing politicians/elite never able to speak out and it it has got to a stage where british people have forgotten what it is like to revolt to say no to things that are wrong because it has become too difficult with little chance of success......and games and tv circuses replace the will in us to try and change our stifled, suppressed little lives all to the satisfaction of the muzzling classes....

Alf Garnet supporters club ? No at least rf has the conviction to air his view ,where as Stan you won't tell us how you think the UK should look .
If you think it should be flooded with immigrants then come out and say it .

eu migrants + benefits
the story on today's front page of the fascist gazette (aka telegraph) makes interesting reading, but as always the paper's leanings should be taken into account

apparently ~257,000 eu migrants arrived in uk last year, yet ~630,000 applied for ni registration
once one is so registered, is one then automatically entitled to a number of benefits, and if so, which?
the other obvious question scarcely needs to be raised

the other interesting comment in the same article was that 000s (unspecified) of illegals were uncovered but could not be deported as "they had nowhere to go" .......
are we totally bonkers????
what's wrong with back whence they came?

Stan - 05 Mar 2016 09:18 - 42 of 12628

I seemed to have read this one somewhere before.

cynic - 05 Mar 2016 09:19 - 43 of 12628

potential collapse of eu
if the country votes "out", is it likely that eu will have started on the slippery slope to disintegration?
imo, yes indeed

would it matter?
imo, assuredly

apart from the economic turmoil ensuing after an "out" vote, the (slow) disintegration of eu itself would lead to a dangerous political vacuum which would certainly have russia rubbing its hands with glee

in conclusion, and it's also a caveat to myself, be careful of what you wish and vote for

cynic - 05 Mar 2016 09:20 - 44 of 12628

42 - yes of course you have, but i didn't realise this thread existed when i posted previously

Stan - 05 Mar 2016 09:26 - 45 of 12628

A question for you Alf, can I assume that you "don't" do the National Lottery?

cynic - 05 Mar 2016 09:27 - 46 of 12628

i did it just after my latest grandchild was born in january ..... beloved won £10 or somesuch and i actually have a free ticket to claim

why do you ask?

Stan - 05 Mar 2016 09:33 - 47 of 12628

Well just that you and sometimes a few others on here post things as if they "will happen" and are facts.

cynic - 05 Mar 2016 09:35 - 48 of 12628

i certainly believe there are strong odds on eu starting to disintegrate if uk leaves ..... and quite possibly even if we stay in

jimmy b - 05 Mar 2016 10:50 - 49 of 12628

Stan , tell him what you think .

cynic - 05 Mar 2016 11:11 - 50 of 12628

47 - btw stan, if you read my post properly, you'ld note that i started off with "imo" ...... the conclusion is a sequitur in the event of the situation being realised

required field - 07 Mar 2016 09:35 - 51 of 12628

Well....I might be turning into a UKIP wet.....not sure about voting to leave Europe now as it seems it will bring more problems than solve them.....decisions....decisions.....illusions......and what about this EDF finance chief quitting ?.....strange non ?.....

cynic - 07 Mar 2016 09:37 - 52 of 12628

just as a thought ......

there seems to be strong support even if not general consensus for the view that the whole eu structure and its governance needs a a pretty drastic overhaul

that being so ......

if uk stays "in", what pressure is there then on the eu parliament to do anything?

if uk votes "out", surely that is very likely to foment further unrest among other member states, thus applying far greater pressure for reform?

jimmy b - 07 Mar 2016 09:39 - 53 of 12628

..not sure about voting to leave Europe now as it seems it will bring more problems than solve
=============

Have they got to you with their bullshit rf ??
