Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Biker - we posted an update to the applet on Thursday night, so if your browser hasn't picked it up then that may be the cause of your problem. Try the following:-

1) Hold down shift and click the Refresh icon. This should force the applet to refresh. If not...

2) Restart your browser and try step 1 above. Failing that...
3) Reboot your Mac and try step 1

You will know you have the correct version if you see news icons alongside stocks. You can also look at your Java console, or possibly System console, for the build ID of the applet, which should be 20023531604. The message looks like this:-

Deltastream StockWatch Applet (C)IST 2002
Build: 20023531604

If this doesn't fix your problem, please let me know.

regards
Ian Penning

Thanks for that. I'll give it a go in the morning when the markets are open.

Enhancement suggestions

- share magazine subscriber watch lists.
eg. SHRMAG2003JAN watchlist for shares recommended in Jan 2003 issue of Share magazine.

jeffmack - 23 Dec 2002 20:04 - 345 of 7315

Can we have 3 decimal places on the watchlist prices please. Wiggins was down 0.125 today, you show 0.12

axdpc - 23 Dec 2002 21:22 - 346 of 7315

Charts.

Would be good to be able to specify interval (eg. 5 min, 15, min, 30 min, 1 hr) for intraday and when date-ranging of no more than 5 days.

Thanks.

jeffmack - 23 Dec 2002 21:46 - 347 of 7315

Also on charts can you put in the next marker above the highest price. In the case of the WGG 1 year chart the range should go to 20 with the highest price being betwen 18 and 20

jeffmack - 23 Dec 2002 22:03 - 348 of 7315

When you do the portfolio it would be nice to be able to enter positions long or short and either purchase, CFD or spreadbet. Depending on which you chose different columns would be presented for input.

mbbcat - 24 Dec 2002 05:33 - 349 of 7315

when charting, if I remove the grid, the scale dissapears also!

kevinmcm - 24 Dec 2002 07:51 - 350 of 7315

Would be nice to have the ability to 'Goto' a post in a thread. At times someone will say read post 33 when you are at 133. You can obviously use previous to go back a few pages but a simpler method would be to type in a post # and get to it in one step.

Biker - 24 Dec 2002 08:54 - 351 of 7315

ipenning.... Good morning Ian.

I tried your instructions a couple of times, and even reuilt the desktop file, but to no avail. It looks like the new applet is installed. This is what Iget:-

Hi guys

Streaming prices on stockwatch doesnt appear to be working this morning

jeffmack - 27 Dec 2002 08:55 - 356 of 7315

When you try to see if there are any unread posts in certain threads it is hard to follow them across the line. Can you put lines in between or use alternate colours or even space the rows out a bit more

Bullshare - 27 Dec 2002 08:57 - 357 of 7315

jeffmack' yes streamers were down but now back up. The new streaming software we put in last week seems to 'forget' to start the servers properly. The techies are on it.

Now up and running.

Hi
Watchlist seems to be picking up old trades. Trd vol and Cum vol don't match on stocks with no trades today.

ChaosT - 27 Dec 2002 10:14 - 359 of 7315

Re: Jeffmaxk's post about the Portfoilio having the ability to short & CFD etc.

I second that in a BIG way!!!!!

Cheers

bully
So thats what you call MightyMicro....a server

MightyMicro - 27 Dec 2002 11:12 - 361 of 7315

March:

Watchlist seems to be picking up old trades. Trd vol and Cum vol don't match on stocks with no trades today.

What's happening here is that the last trade is being reported -- even if it wasn't today. So it's not actually lying, but it is a little confusing. Obviously it will tend to appear more on thin trading days.

Edit: One clue is that the Trd Time may be ahead of the current time today.

Could be that we should make it more obvious that it not a trade today (or last 24 hours??).
