required field - 14 Jul 2010 13:55

It is now time to switch to a new Money AM football blog as the world cup is now over and we all look to the future.....World cup 2010 is over, Bravo Espana, and Forlan, once again and bring on the new season !.....I never expected the last thread to be such a success...thanks all.... so this new one might go on for years without the need to edit the title...we shall see...

Not good for the Gunners.....I have a bet on Spurs.....but not sure....hope Crouch and Bale will play....

required field - 25 Nov 2010 11:27 - 344 of 6918

Spurs won.....might go a long way in the champions league.....the Gunners are going through a bad spell.......not enough UK footballers in that side....probably will turn into another trophyless year as usual for that side.....one moment brilliant, the next letting in daft goals....but that's what you get if you don't have a British backbone....

Hope England win on Thursday.......the problem is Beckam is a bit of a jinx....not his fault but bad luck seems to follow him....and he will be present......the problem with voting for the Russians is : "promising is one thing"...delivering is another.....and what about the Georgian problem and the other caucasian troubles.....difficult to say what the situation will be in 6 years time.....I think that the Australians are going to win 2022......for Quatar to win: the world cup would have to be played in winter, because of the heat...not impossible but I think that the relative security of the socceroo land will influence their decision......I have to say that England have a cracking bid.....and deserve to win...but in football politics,...you never know.....it just could be that the first bids knocked out might support England....it's the safest route to a great world cup.....and any country can win here....and any country can win the world cup in England...good luck boys....!....

Treblewide - 29 Nov 2010 21:49 - 350 of 6918

rf.....the dutch-Belgian bid is the best bid actually however they will not win, they are the highest ranked FIFA country never to have hosted

i don not expect england to win either, ....expect it to go to the ruskies

australia will never get it due to the time zone......sales of delayed tv rights are a lot less

i am thinking russia, then the US for the next one so that they can give the one in 2026 to the chinese.

it's all about the tv rights and cash.... noting else.....if it wasnt the dutch would get this one and the ozzies the next one...

but it wont happen

ENGLAND'S 2018 World Cup bid could be undermined by the hellish, unremitting dreadfulness of everything in the country, it was claimed last night.

English lady make you sandwich
Former Birmingham City managing director Karren Brady warned England will be competing against nations with sunshine, culture, clean stadia and women that don't look like wookies dipped in Primark.

Brady, now a member of the England 2018 board, said: "At this stage our only hope is to try and make a virtue out of all the rain and the vomit. It would also help if everything didn't reek of piss."

She added: "I suppose my dream slogan would have to be something along the lines of 'England - where the rain will wash away your vomit and nothing smells of piss anymore'."

Meanwhile the 2018 bid has also been hit by infighting between organisers over what excuses they should give FIFA for England's transport network, its inhumane sandwiches and the existence of Croydon.

An FA spokesman said: "One director wanted to tell them some big town planners did it and ran away, while another said we should simply cover it with a large tarpaulin for the next nine years."

Last night FIFA president Sepp Blatter signalled he would be willing to overlook the rain, vomit, piss and Croydon but stressed that Liverpudlians remain 'comprehensively unacceptable'.

He added: "You can't expect people from decent countries to get from Lime Street Station to Anfield without wanting to kill themselves. We may as well just machine gun them as they get off the train."

No...not the US nor Mexico.....too much of the same.....and not South Korea....I think England have a very good chance and these 2 country bids don't appeal....not to me any way this time...the Russians need to organise the Euro championships first......the world cup is a big step up from them....they need something like the Eurostar trains for a world cup......when is that going to be built ....?....all ready for in 6 years time ?.....if I had to vote ,I would go England and then Australia......the African and Arabian countries will have to influence Fifa into a one off winter world cup....possible...but later on....

daves dazzlers - 30 Nov 2010 08:47 - 353 of 6918

Ok macca you had to rub it in !

Morning stan didnt watch the programme nothing new in it,,i dont no why they dont pull out of the bid,

Onwards and upwards.

Stan - 02 Dec 2010 14:34 - 354 of 6918

England favourites for 2018 and Qatar favourites for 2022, both odds on.

Not long to go now.

I think it's all over...

required field - 02 Dec 2010 14:54 - 355 of 6918

I think Australia will win 2022...you cannot play in summer in Quatar....32 teams playing in one air conditioned stadium....nonsense....you will need 6 minimum....

Stan - 02 Dec 2010 14:59 - 356 of 6918

No problem as they have the money, and 12 years to get things organised.

Stan - 02 Dec 2010 15:37 - 357 of 6918

Russia have it for 2018.

Stan - 02 Dec 2010 15:44 - 358 of 6918

hilary - 02 Dec 2010 17:28 - 361 of 6918

Yes, second only to the Jocks in the unpopularity stakes!

hilary - 02 Dec 2010 17:29 - 362 of 6918

Anyway, I'm glad we didn't get to host the World Cup. We're never going to win the damn thing, so why bother hosting it.
