ENGLAND'S 2018 World Cup bid could be undermined by the hellish, unremitting dreadfulness of everything in the country, it was claimed last night.
English lady make you sandwich
Former Birmingham City managing director Karren Brady warned England will be competing against nations with sunshine, culture, clean stadia and women that don't look like wookies dipped in Primark.
Brady, now a member of the England 2018 board, said: "At this stage our only hope is to try and make a virtue out of all the rain and the vomit. It would also help if everything didn't reek of piss."
She added: "I suppose my dream slogan would have to be something along the lines of 'England - where the rain will wash away your vomit and nothing smells of piss anymore'."
Meanwhile the 2018 bid has also been hit by infighting between organisers over what excuses they should give FIFA for England's transport network, its inhumane sandwiches and the existence of Croydon.
An FA spokesman said: "One director wanted to tell them some big town planners did it and ran away, while another said we should simply cover it with a large tarpaulin for the next nine years."
Last night FIFA president Sepp Blatter signalled he would be willing to overlook the rain, vomit, piss and Croydon but stressed that Liverpudlians remain 'comprehensively unacceptable'.
He added: "You can't expect people from decent countries to get from Lime Street Station to Anfield without wanting to kill themselves. We may as well just machine gun them as they get off the train."

No...not the US nor Mexico.....too much of the same.....and not South Korea....I think England have a very good chance and these 2 country bids don't appeal....not to me any way this time...the Russians need to organise the Euro championships first......the world cup is a big step up from them....they need something like the Eurostar trains for a world cup......when is that going to be built ....?....all ready for in 6 years time ?.....if I had to vote ,I would go England and then Australia......the African and Arabian countries will have to influence Fifa into a one off winter world cup....possible...but later on....

England favourites for 2018 and Qatar favourites for 2022, both odds on.
Not long to go now.
I think it's all over...

I think Australia will win 2022...you cannot play in summer in Quatar....32 teams playing in one air conditioned stadium....nonsense....you will need 6 minimum....

No problem as they have the money, and 12 years to get things organised.

Anyway, I'm glad we didn't get to host the World Cup. We're never going to win the damn thing, so why bother hosting it.

well for one thing hilda you could have had us subsidise some more improvements to England's infrastructure.
plus the way you are going by hosting it you would at leats get threee games at the finals...the way you are going you probably wont be there :-)
hee hee

The best improvement to England's infrastructure would be to stick another 15' on top of Hadrian's Wall and move the whole thing 250 miles further south. All subsidies gratefully accepted.
Oh, and we'll keep your oil.

Olympics & Rugby World Cup (2015) coming up. What more do you lot want? Plus I need an excuse to visit Russia. Have a look at some of my more dodgy investments there! Couldn't really think of a good reason to go up to now. Hopefully some of our under 21 squad will be eligible by then. Good time to retire some of the overpaid, over rated Prima Donnas, imo.

'Old bean'!!!! I resent that.
ITV headline was 'World Cup bid Catastrophe'. Media hype at it's worst.
I wonder if BP will be one of the main sponsors of the Russian World Cup? Big players in the russian energy market.
