Stan, put the following note on Sharescope BB:-

Another attempt, to get a group of people of various backgrounds together who are interested in trading and investing.
At the moment for the next meeting there will be three of us.
Therefore any new faces will be welcome.
We are not quite novices but are still in the learning phases.

Topics, which we could possibly consider:-

1) How long will the Bull continue to run
2) Stop losses , based on range support lines, percentages or luck
3) which would be the best defensive stocks
4) are CFDs or share bets of value in changing trends
5) Any room for high yield stocks in a portfolio
6) Any room for gilts and bonds
7) Any stockbrokers grumbles?

Next meeting the 13th June at 4pm.

The Old Joint Stock (Pub)
(Temple Row opposite the Birmingham Cathedrals entrance.)

Stan - 07 Jun 2007 15:44 - 355 of 1427

Looks good to me Fred, but will it move the locals? Only time will tell.

survived87 - 07 Jun 2007 20:47 - 356 of 1427

"1) How long will the Bull continue to run"....

by next week then perhaps that might be:
1) Has the bear market started?

Let's see if B'ham has more than 3 PI's next week...!

Stan - 08 Jun 2007 09:06 - 357 of 1427

"2) Stop losses , based on range support lines, percentages or luck"

"To Stop or Not to Stop" article in this weeks Shares Mag coincidently (haven't read It yet myself) for interest.

Survive, by next week I may not have enough to buy a pint of beer or the bullets for suicide.

Stan, will read it, but I have cashed in a large portion of holdings for a while.

"Survive, by next week I may not have enough to buy a pint of beer or the bullets for suicide."

Stan, will read it, but I have cashed in a large portion of holdings for a while.

Survivor, to recognise us, Steve is the one wearing a skirt and I will have a long hiking stick and carry a computer.

Who ever gets there first, tell the barman and he will probably direct you or us in the right direction!

survived87 - 12 Jun 2007 09:38 - 361 of 1427

OK.Thanks. Noted. (Is that a skirt or kilt?)

Stan - 12 Jun 2007 10:31 - 362 of 1427

"(Is that a skirt or kilt?)"

Neither If I've got anything to do with It -):

....Could be wellies though having looked at the weather forecast!

Fred1new - 12 Jun 2007 11:44 - 363 of 1427

Looks like I will have to wear the skirt again.

Stan - 12 Jun 2007 11:48 - 364 of 1427

.....If you do you'll be sitting on your own -):

survived87 - 12 Jun 2007 11:51 - 365 of 1427

well, if it's 'skirts', then it'll have to be Hurst Street....

survived87 - 13 Jun 2007 11:58 - 366 of 1427

i might go to Waterstones and / or Maplins first. Therefore might have relevant plastic bag with me ....

Stan - 13 Jun 2007 12:05 - 367 of 1427

We will be seated at the back on the right as you come in, it's where the socket is for Fred's computer. I will probably be in a blue shirt.

See you later.

Fred1new - 13 Jun 2007 21:24 - 368 of 1427

Hope all got home safely.

For me it was an interesting evening, (But I am easy to please.)

It was interesting to hear what is on others screens and also how they arrived there.

It is a pity that the pub was a bit "noisy"

Might be reasonable to me earlier next time.

Good luck in tomorrow's market.

Stan - 13 Jun 2007 22:44 - 369 of 1427

Yes, a most enjoyable evening and nice to get a fresh view.

Noisy and got Smokey (which of course won't be a problem next time) later on.

An earlier start should be quieter which I would be agreeable to.

Dow finished up 187pts I see tonight, will we follow tomorrow?

survived87 - 14 Jun 2007 07:57 - 370 of 1427

Hi.... nice to meet you both and discuss various (financial & non-financial) matters. The smokey smell on my clothes was commented on as soon as I stepped thru the front door ....

Look forward to meeting up again in the future. Happy with an earlier start as well.
Best Regards.....
