Zarif, Well if your doing well with one thing then it's usually best to stick to that formula although it's always nice to have a little dabble in most things. Im sorry if that sounds confusing but i've had a few too many this afternoon and the evening is still young and now im rambling on so i will just shut it!

Hic!

jeffmack - 30 Dec 2003 20:03 - 3555 of 23498

Socs, when are you going to retire? you must be pushing 70 now!

8 Ball - 30 Dec 2003 20:16 - 3556 of 23498

Evening all.

Thanks for the leaderboard update GD.
Can we add dividends to our total? sorry I forgot to read the rules.

Jeff..

I am selling quite a bit to eastern europe on e bay of late.
As a man of great banking Knowledge, is direct transfer safe?
Also have you any idea what Western union is?

jeffmack - 30 Dec 2003 20:27 - 3557 of 23498

8ball

Western Union is reputable money transfer agency but I believe a little expensive. I think the PO might use them.

Whats your user name on Ebay

Socrates - 30 Dec 2003 21:42 - 3559 of 23498

I have used Western Union Billpay and, as Jeffmack says, it is a bit expensive. The way it works is that the buyer gives their credit card number and Western Union then post a Money Order to the seller. The buyer pays Western Union a fee for postage and a fee on a sliding scale dependent upon the amount. My deal cost me $17 on a $200 purchase. Compared with PayPal, I thought it was exorbitant.

Advice is like Castor Oil -very easy to give but very hard to take.

hilary - 31 Dec 2003 13:09 - 3561 of 23498

Jeff,

I was bored whilst waiting for my download so I couldn't resist the temptation of having a nose around.

Anyway, have a good time tonight, one and all, and see you next year. Be sure that you don't drink and drive as you might spill it.

:o)

jeffmack - 31 Dec 2003 13:50 - 3562 of 23498

Hilary
Have a great time yourself and a happy new year to you and yours

Nouvelle ann heureuse.
Glkliches neues Jahr.
Nuovo anno felice.
Ano novo feliz.
Feliz A Nuevo.

Not forgetting "Happy New Year" from Socco and her-indoors.

Let's hope next year is a better one for us all. May my portfolio be blue and my investment picks all be ten baggers.

Now it's time to eat so I think a Spam sandwich would be very comforting. With gherkins and pickles on the side. Hey, how about some green tomato chutney. Not had that since a pound was 20 shillings!

jeffmack - 31 Dec 2003 15:28 - 3565 of 23498

Hi Socs
Thought it might be fun to have a "Guess the name of Mrs Socs" competition.

You go first....

Socrates - 31 Dec 2003 15:29 - 3566 of 23498
