How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Guys

cant see nadal losing today but do think he will struggle in the tournament to get to the quarters or further

Dil - he had a bye on day 1 :-)

His first round exit in the Gerry Weber tournament (grass) didn't help his preparation for wimbledon, or his odds for that matter.

I see that Henman's odds have already drifted out to 1.25+ having been as low as 1.11/1.12 at the outset. Wished I'd layed more on it for an easy green up!

bakko - 21 Jun 2005 14:47 - 3570 of 10502

Now at 1.6 after break of serve

Dil - 21 Jun 2005 15:16 - 3571 of 10502

I hate this firewall at work , costing me a fortune in missed opportunities.

I'm feeling ill :-)

Bak

Henman doing us proud as usual :-)

Greened up at end of first set - may look to get back in later

bakko - 21 Jun 2005 15:23 - 3573 of 10502

Green for me too.

I'm all for him to win this match after a rigourous 5 set workout so he can get wasted next round after I've layed him off big time for the tournament.

Scripophilist - 21 Jun 2005 15:38 - 3574 of 10502

LOL, Henman always produces the goods doesn't he?

Fundamentalist - 21 Jun 2005 15:52 - 3575 of 10502

Hope henman wins the tie break so i can lay him again!!!

Fundamentalist - 21 Jun 2005 16:00 - 3576 of 10502

Looks like were only getting this match for laying henman this yr - anyone backing him at 3.4? not me!!!

bakko - 21 Jun 2005 16:05 - 3577 of 10502

I think it's pretty safe to say that Henman's out.

Will wait for a few more games before piling onto to Nieminen

Fundamentalist - 21 Jun 2005 16:07 - 3578 of 10502

the sad thing bak is that niemenen hasnt even played that well - just that henman has been so poor - so if he could find an ounce of form he'd still have half a chance

Dil - 21 Jun 2005 16:27 - 3579 of 10502

Is he out yet ?

What's the score ?

sealed - 21 Jun 2005 16:34 - 3580 of 10502

2 sets Nieminen 4 all in the third

Scripophilist - 21 Jun 2005 16:44 - 3581 of 10502

Set point Timothy.

Fundamentalist - 21 Jun 2005 16:44 - 3582 of 10502

2 sets to 1 now

Scripophilist - 21 Jun 2005 16:45 - 3583 of 10502

Gets the set.

Scripophilist - 21 Jun 2005 16:45 - 3584 of 10502

Come on Timothy.

Scripophilist - 21 Jun 2005 16:45 - 3585 of 10502

Incidentally Henman got married in the next village to me. He married a local girl.

bakko - 21 Jun 2005 16:46 - 3586 of 10502

Dil, It's now 2-1 in sets to Nieminen
