Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

jeffmack' yes streamers were down but now back up. The new streaming software we put in last week seems to 'forget' to start the servers properly. The techies are on it.

Now up and running.

Hi
Watchlist seems to be picking up old trades. Trd vol and Cum vol don't match on stocks with no trades today.

Re: Jeffmaxk's post about the Portfoilio having the ability to short & CFD etc.

I second that in a BIG way!!!!!

Cheers

March:

Watchlist seems to be picking up old trades. Trd vol and Cum vol don't match on stocks with no trades today.

What's happening here is that the last trade is being reported -- even if it wasn't today. So it's not actually lying, but it is a little confusing. Obviously it will tend to appear more on thin trading days.

Edit: One clue is that the Trd Time may be ahead of the current time today.

Could be that we should make it more obvious that it not a trade today (or last 24 hours??).

There seems to be a number of old news flags around LOG and BT.A as two examples.
Also I am still whinging about the look of the stockwatch screen. I keep going back to ADVFN as I find it easier to look at and absorb.
Could be what I am used to but it just ain?t easy on my old eyes.
Also when are you going to cache all the buttons?

I agree with you on the stockwatch screen i still prefer to use the other sides screen as they are bigger and clearer.

It is still early days i guess but it would be nice to change it soon.

Hope everyone had a good christmas....

All:

A word on changes to the software.

In making changes to the software, the team at MoneyAM decide what they want changed or fixed in the next version of the software and we go ahead and do that work at IST. We then test in-house before releasing it back to MoneyAM.

The net effect of this is that changes arrive in batches (except for any urgent "site down" type problems which have been fortunately almost unknown), so you don't see a lot of smaller changes continually being applied to the live site.

Please be assured that all your input is very valuable and is added to the list of things to be considered for implementation.

Martini: We older chaps should visit the optician's regularly as well . . . ;-)

And noted on the news flags.

Derek

Thanks for the reply. I understand but i do find it confusing (although that is not unusual). I would rather see only today's trades on the stockwatch (and use the trades screen to look at old trades, if I wanted).

March and Mighty Micro:
Your posts 357, 360 and 364 may have an upside. I follow DYS and it was marked up this morning after the 'ghost' trades appeared here! Please, let the price go up a bit more before they twig it was a trade on the 24th! And, please only fix bug after ?2.20 has been reached!

I'll give you a list of EPIC codes that might benefit from this glitch!

Martini - 27 Dec 2002 18:31 - 367 of 7315

Without decrying the input are the regular postings of 'significant' market news as a new thread by Kam-MoneyAM the way to handle this input?
It does tend to clutter up the BB.
Would it be better to have a daily thread called say 'Breaking news xx/xx/xx' to which these items could be added rather then a new thread for each item?
If the news was of such significance as say 911 then a new thread but I suspect that posters would get there first anyway.

vasey: Ah, you've discovered the MoneyAM Auto-Ramper(tm) before we were ready to announce it. It's an extra subscription feature -- it takes a percentage.

Facility to download, in CSV, trade data. Could make this part of the L2.

What is the difference between clicking 'Bulletin Boards' and 'Back to list'?

Bullshare - 28 Dec 2002 19:27 - 370 of 7315

Martini; Until we launch the site, we are getting Kam to post on the BB. The simple reason the front page is not being used as the entry gateway by betatestests and we want to ensure that we get the right content when we do launch. However point is taken. On Friday he did 'take over' the BB.

axdpc - 28 Dec 2002 19:31 - 371 of 7315

Like Kam's aritcles. Hope it continues after launch.
Do they deserve a special section by themself.
eg. a reportage with 'talkback' section ??

Bullshare - 28 Dec 2002 19:37 - 372 of 7315

axdpc; could do we ewill have a think. Kam isvery well known in the City having just come to us from Sharecast. He is itching to confront a few CEO's so we might go back to previous idea we had of users nominating companies to tackle!!

Mike,

The thread in BB can get a bit disorganised and hard to find.
How about a high level view of BB threads, arrange and expandable by name, category, EPIC or author. Searchable threads are good but there are time when
one just wants to browse... Easily done in SQL language if that what you are using.

All: Re: remembering Username/Password with Internet Explorer.

I've reproduced a post from another thread here from Ian Penning (IST and MoneyAM) on the login username/password problem

For those of you using Internet Explorer, you can persuade it to remember your username/password for the site without too much difficulty.

You need to set the following options:-

1. Go to the Tools menu
2. Select Internet Options
3. Click on the Content tab
4. Click on the Autocomplete button
5. Tick the following:
User names and passwords on forms
Prompt me to save passwords

Then, the next time you login, IE will ask if you want to remember the password.

Most other recent browsers have similar functionality.

Hope this helps for now

Derek (IST and MoneyAM)

Can't get the stockwatch pages to work today.. wanted to add some new watch lists but can't see them as it says 'not connected. Refresh page to reconnect' I do that and it still doesn't work. The applet seems to be okay (am using Sun java)

Martini - 29 Dec 2002 19:14 - 376 of 7315

Jumpin
Have you tried clicking "Turn streaming off" top right above grey box?
