teddybear5 - 04 Dec 2007 18:04 - 372 of 810

this one looks encouraging seems the way its worded they already assume it done thing with bhp
With a positive outlook for demand for both nickel and PGMs, primarily driven by
underlying baseload demand in the West and emerging demand in China and India,
Braemore looks forward to unlocking the considerable potential of its projects
in both Australia and South Africa, and emerging as a significant producer of
these important metals.

This is the AFX write-up. Seems you may have a point PTH!

Braemore Resources FY pretax group loss widens; sees newsflow acceleration

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Braemore Resources PLC posted a wider full year pretax loss, but said it expects acceleration in newsflow in the current year on significant progress both in nickel in Australia, and PGMs and nickel in South Africa.

The company said it is on track to complete the feasibility studies over the Leinster tailings by mid 2008.

The pretax loss for the year ended June 30 came in at 923,000 stg compared to 902,000 stg.

Braemore said it looks forward to positive re-rating of its share price on continuing positive results from the metallurgical testwork together with the start of the commercial production in South Africa.

The metallurgical testwork in Finland and Australia has moved to continuous laboratory scale and is currently being taken to pilot scale, it added.

Actually that's not a big widening of the loss, especially taking into account all the progress they've been making operationally?? - What do you reckon?

teddybear5 - 04 Dec 2007 18:11 - 375 of 810

dont think the figures really count this time they will count in the next 2/3 years though lol

Toya - 04 Dec 2007 18:12 - 376 of 810

Teddybear: I thought the same when I read it.

Well, must go on kitchen duty now - will leave you guys to ponder!

ptholden - 04 Dec 2007 18:51 - 377 of 810

You will find out tomorrow i guess, losses are rarely well accepted, usually greeted by a mark down, depends on how well the other stuff is received.

ptholden - 04 Dec 2007 19:21 - 378 of 810

Looking at the trades page today, I can't see any reason for the mark down last thing, wonder if the MMs were in the know?

Toya - 04 Dec 2007 19:26 - 379 of 810

I wondered that, but if you look at the intraday chart the sp did recover late afternoon - so perhaps it perked up when they reckoned it would be OK? - as you say: we'll soon know... only a few hours to go!

cynic - 04 Dec 2007 20:40 - 380 of 810

even of the figures are deemed to be better than expected, do not hope for fireworks .... still a very long way to go

Toya - 05 Dec 2007 06:50 - 381 of 810

I don't need fireworks, though they would be fun of course.

Might treat myself to a trip to the Capital for the AGM - odd time of year for it, but a good time to catch up with friends.

cynic - 05 Dec 2007 06:53 - 382 of 810

what's your excuse for being up so early?
by The Capital, do you mean the one in Knightsbridge behind Harrods?
if so, fab place to dine, but serious money

Toya - 05 Dec 2007 07:02 - 383 of 810

Good morning Cynic: I just like to get up and get on... doesn't suit everybody I guess.
And yes: that's the one!

Toya - 05 Dec 2007 08:33 - 384 of 810

Looks like it's going to be a scrappy sort of day here - may as well go and find something else to do!

mitzy - 05 Dec 2007 08:40 - 385 of 810

Its a dolly drifter type of week..

Toya - 05 Dec 2007 09:47 - 386 of 810

That's a lovely expression, Mitzy. I think Cynic's taken one look at the world today and headed back to bed!

mitzy - 05 Dec 2007 09:58 - 387 of 810

I dont blame him Toya.

cynic - 05 Dec 2007 14:53 - 388 of 810

nope .... played golf ..... like the market bit of good, bit of bad, got rained on and also had sunshine ..... meanwhile, portfolio doing well enough today

Toya - 05 Dec 2007 15:22 - 389 of 810

Nice of you to come back! Much better to go and play golf while the portfolio looks after itself!

cynic - 05 Dec 2007 15:31 - 390 of 810

prob does better without me mollycoddling it

Toya - 05 Dec 2007 15:33 - 391 of 810

That's just how I felt - went to the gym and left the markets to their own devices. No use trying to p--- against the wind in any case, and it has been windy!
