World cup 2010, What chances for the Home sides and Ireland !. (2010)

required field - 12 Oct 2008 18:43

Thought I'd start a football blog, we might keep this going until 2010.....England doing well....did not see the match or even the goals....I'd like Michael owen back in the squad though....and I think Peter Crouch would make a very good substitute...remember against Argentina in Geneva a few years ago....with Michael Owen and some very good movements on and off the ball...they caused havoc.....did see Scotland's missed chance....that could be very costly losing those 2 points !.

Couldn't agrre more but at the end of the day JT remains at Chels and Owen say moved for footballing reasons

Manwhile Tevez and Ronnie have done their Lloyds/HBOS and gone cap in hand to the powers that be.

RF - Dyinf to see how city compete against their peers - still think they will only get 50% of the points gainst the likes of Villa, Everton, Spurs, Wet Ham etc

And I think that Real Madrid might find it hard as well in Spain...it takes some time to blend famous players into a team..

Just looked at the cricket scores and Strauss has hit a century...well done him, and well done Cook out at 95 unlucky not to get to the 100 mark...it's always around that mark that it gets tricky......England doing fine at the moment.

Wrong thread RF...this one's about football -):

Well, yes but not much football this summer....just a little distraction now and again...

required field - 17 Jul 2009 15:12 - 390 of 1154

Celtic have drawn Dynamo Moscow....that's a tough draw, right at the start of the season.....they will struggle to beat them....in fact I don't think they will...with the first leg at home.

required field - 30 Jul 2009 08:49 - 391 of 1154

Peter Crouch now with Spurs....should be interesting.....and Manchester City....I still don't think that they will make the top 4 at the end of the season !.

required field - 30 Jul 2009 13:59 - 392 of 1154

Celtic lose at home 0-1....not at all surprised....it would have been difficult for anybody.....; a bit unlucky the Bhoys..bumping into the Russians so early in the season.

Joe Say - 30 Jul 2009 18:26 - 393 of 1154

Excellent news - lets hope they can lose the away leg as well.

Come on the blues north and south of the border

Motherwell and Aberdeen both going out....terrible start to the year for the Scots...standards dropping up there..

Poor old Bobby Robson...he came very close to winning the world cup for England in 1990...I'm convinced if we had got past the Germans we would have won it...and incredibly sporting in 1986 when we were robbed of a semi-final place....me in his place : I would have gone bonkers at the final whistle....a great trainer...!.

Treblewide - 05 Aug 2009 19:01 - 396 of 1154

hows that for standards.....2-0 away in russia effectively pre-season......great effort celtic.....did the scottish league proud

marni - 05 Aug 2009 20:53 - 397 of 1154

hows it scottish when according to my sports website, the 2 guys that scored were aussie and greek! are there any brits left playing football at top level in either england or scotland?

Treblewide - 05 Aug 2009 23:40 - 398 of 1154

marni....most of the team playing were scottish and some english....u got a problem with that? u racist?

marni - 06 Aug 2009 00:29 - 399 of 1154

no.......but i find it irritating when english or in your case scots pretend to talk of "english or scots" football when lets face it the vast majority playing are people from outwith uk..........or is it that brits cant play football.

personally, i couldnt care about silly football

ps: i checked with a friend who knows football and he says celtic are mainly foreigners...........can u tell me from starting line up of team how many out of 11 are scottish........if its less than 5 then i cant really see you calling celtic as scottish.......but its same as chelsea, arsenal etc.

Treblewide - 06 Aug 2009 02:38 - 400 of 1154

if you have no interest and it is obvious no knowledge of football...why are you making comment?

ps to answer your question

caldwell, mcgeady, brown, naylor, maloney (there are more but you wanted 5)...now go and follow hyleo about the boards lilke a good little boy...dont make yourself look stupid on this thread as well as the MDW one where i notice you have been very quiet of late.....

toodle pip

required field - 06 Aug 2009 09:37 - 401 of 1154

Amazing by Celtic....I'm delighted for them.....saw the 2 goals and the second one caught the Russian goalkeeper by surprise : just sneaked in by the post gently, no time for Dynamo to pull 1 back...what a turnaround....now I would not want to bump into the Bhoys in the next round....

marni - 07 Aug 2009 00:48 - 402 of 1154

ok treble, i did research on your little team........it reads as

Dinamo Moscow: Gabulov, Kowalcyzk, Fernandez, Kolodin, Granat, Kirill Kombarov, Khokhlov, Wilkshire, Svezhov, Dmitri Kombarov, Kerzhakov.
Subs: Shunin, Smolov, Dimidko, Tanasijevic, Ropotan, Denisov, Kokorin.

Celtic: Boruc (polish), Hinkel (german), Caldwell (scots), Loovens (euro), Daniel Fox (euro), McGeady (republic ireland), Donati (italy), N'Guemo (african), Maloney (scots), McDonald (australian), Fortune (ANO)

so out of 11, i make that 2 scottish.........i see you like to emebellish things in life and not just on stock market......actually u dont do that as its just mdw you ry to trash............i dont go on it as its just u the glasgow idiot thats on it with inane drivvle.

oh.....i might not bother with silly football but i do know that scotland are useless at football...........maybe thats why celtic hardly have any of their own players and got to chase players elsewhere in the world

Treblewide - 07 Aug 2009 10:26 - 403 of 1154

soem corrections for you nob ed

mcgeady is as scottish as they come but just decided to play his international football for the republic as he is not good enough for us...so he is scottish

scott brown came off the bench (and changed the game by the way) and is scottish, you could also take Paul Caddis who came on..

there are 5 for you looser boy when you include maloney and caldwell.....if you are english (although i doubt that) then you are on dodgy ground banging on about foreigners in domestic teams...however since you want to follow me about bulletin boards then feel free to repsond..i know you are hurting with your loss on MDW....lol....my short nicely in profit now
