Ruthers, I think it is the results of the steam testing that will be the most interesting, due to the fact that oil is already known to be present, but it is the steaming that will greatly multiply the rate of production.

Shivering with anticipation anyway. Well, not exactly, given the 35-degree heat, but I'm looking forward to it.

Rutherford - 04 Jul 2006 13:29 - 397 of 1049

soul traders, yes you are correct. The steaming should increase the flow by 5 to 10 times initial flow. Look for to Monterey around August which is the company maker I believe!

HAS ANYONE GOT ANY IDEA AS TO WHY BLR HAS DROPPED SLIGHTLY GIVEN THAT THERE ONLY SEEMS TO BE BUYS

diydave - 04 Jul 2006 14:24 - 399 of 1049

Hello Soul, just got back from the sun. With the conspicuous exception of BLR (and to some extent SEY) I find myself a lot worse off on paper at least. (plus what I spent on hols!)
I've obviously missed a bit of excitement but it would seem, however, that I've got back just in time to see the sp rise on that head of steam we talked about in May!

Shame to see we lost Dr Square along the way. He claims to be a novice but he's a pretty shrewed one. He may just have got this one wrong.

Cynic. My apologies for my comment in May. You had posted essentially the same message two or three times without any corollary, so I incorrectly took you to be a serial deramper. Obviously not. I note, however, that we have yet to persuade you that Columbian heavy crude is worth a punt!

Hi Dave, good to have you back. Seems like you've been gone for ages - I hope you had a good time in spite of coming back to find that the markets have taken a dive. I won't mention Victoria Oil and Gas in case anyone of a sensitive disposition is reading! (I, for one, still have a core holding and am strongly tempted to come back to the table for more on any dips between now and late autumn).

As for BLR, well, it has been a case of typical tiddler swings-and-roundabouts over the last month or two, BUT the newsflow looks ever more positive and I am hopeful (i.e. near-enough certain) that our patience will be duly rewarded! I still maintain that there are many other E&P co's out there with far bigger valuations and far fewer known quantities regarding the presence of hydrocarbons. Time will tell.

It is a pity about the Doc; still at current prices maybe he'll be tempted to dip a toe in the water once again.

Cynic is likely to be having difficulties getting into BLR at the moment as he only likes to do CFD's, for which the co needs to have a market cap of 10 mil. I hope he has his alerts set, as no doubt we'll be there soon :o)

As for me, I'm happy to fuel my punt with Colombian Heavy Crude, any time. Although a whiff of North Sea Gas as mentioned by Rutherford would be nice too.

So, here's hoping for a busy summer season.

Best wishes,
ST

DOES ANYONE HAVE AN OPINION ON WHY THE SPREAD ON BLR IS SO WIDE ie ONLY OFFERING 1.20 TO SELL BUT TO BUY IS 1.58-1.70

Marcel1970 - 05 Jul 2006 10:53 - 402 of 1049

Marcel1970 - 05 Jul 2006 11:50 - 404 of 1049

Weird just done dummy trade being offered 1.50 to sell & 1.50 to buy how does that work???

explosive - 05 Jul 2006 20:12 - 405 of 1049

Different MMs have different prices, your broker would have got you the best price in each scenario.

Marcel1970 - 06 Jul 2006 13:05 - 406 of 1049

I can buy upto 2.5 Million share @ 1.43 should i be reading into to anything?

soul traders - 06 Jul 2006 14:18 - 407 of 1049

Marcel, with the greatest of respect, I think that what you really should be reading is the background information relating to this company, of which a lot, including some excellent comment and opinion, was posted on this thread between the beginning of March up to around early June. There is also a lot of useful info on the company's own website. Links have been posted in the aforementioned material on this thread.

I apologise if I am guilty of misunderstanding the nature of your posts, but the amount of nervousness you're showing makes me wonder whether you bet your house on this stock based on a tip given you by some shifty-looking character you bumped into at the local greyhound track.

Those of us who have done our homework aren't panicking about people's share dealings; we're concentrating on the fact that this company is in the business of producing oil and gas which is likely to be worth a lot of money in the very near future. And if we turn out to be wrong, well, that's a risk we've decided to accept.

I apologise for being blunt, but your posts are becoming almost painful to read and I'd really like to help you to understand for yourself why some of us consider this co to be a good, albeit still risky, investment.

silvermede - 06 Jul 2006 14:50 - 408 of 1049

Rutherford, it may help people like Marcel if the header to this thread was improved to include Resource estimates, conservative valuations, timetable of likely work, Block licenses etc or just a link to the BLR website. Only a thought! :-)

moneyman - 07 Jul 2006 10:09 - 409 of 1049

Great buying opportunity - 1.3p now.

skyhigh - 07 Jul 2006 11:18 - 410 of 1049

risky though ! what if the news disappoints and the sp goes down to 1p ?

soul traders - 07 Jul 2006 12:33 - 411 of 1049

Then you'll have got into a situation the economists like to call Getting Your Ar*e Burnt.

cynic - 07 Jul 2006 12:55 - 412 of 1049

only if you stick you head in the sand in the hot sunshine without wearing knix!

soul traders - 07 Jul 2006 13:17 - 413 of 1049

Cynic, don't laugh - it happens more frequently than you might think :o)

Skyhigh - forgive my unruly sense of humour. If both Arce and Monterey turn out to be non-commercial then it might be worth reviewing your reasons for holding. I'd like to be more specific but don't have the time currently to explore the implications. WIll try and catch up on it sometime soon.

austing2253 - 07 Jul 2006 15:42 - 414 of 1049

Could do with some good news now, lets be positive and look forward to a mmm gush!
