Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?
If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?
Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?
What will the price of oil be in 4 weeks time?

The problem with your posts is that they never address the problems and are always abusive. You somehow naively believe that being anti Israel is being anti semetic. That alone precludes you from sensible discussions.

Some people are opposed to some actions of the Israeli govt. That is a legitimate view to hold.
Some are plainly anti-semitic and use anti-Israel sentiments as a cloak.
You and your intellectual superior are in the latter camp.

not quite certain that's true, but sure as hell he don't think too good (grammar and adverbs not understood on this BB!)

Well, that's all to the good, but don't insult ALL members on this BB just because two are one storey short of a bungalow and think syntax is a govt levy on homosexual couples.

You are incorrect in thinking that I am anti-semitic. I see no connection with Israel and Judaeism as regards their behaviour. The Arab countries do not oppose Israel because it is a Jewish state. In fact I have not come across anti-Israel campaigners that are anti-semitic. I am sure that you are right in some sense that there are some, but they would be in the minority. The only group that indicates the link between anti-Israel sentiments and anti-semitism is Israel itself and its supporters particularly in the US. It is used as a device to reduce the impact of anti-Israel feeling. I am surprised that you fall for this type of propaganda.

just as an aside and mildly off subject .... we all tend to think that iraq is a "natural" entity .... wrong! it was created in 1920/1930 with all its own subsequent problems - e.g. brutal suppression and repression of the kurds - which tend to be conveniently swept under the carpet

When was it swept under the carpet ? during the 1920 /1930 's when media coverage was primitive compared to now. I think most people know of the the gassing of the Kurds and their fight for Independence.

but for a variety of reasons, that jolly aspect now gets little press coverage; in some ways i guess you could add mugabe and his thugs in zimbabwe, but of course who wants worn out tobacco farms when there's juicy oil to pursue (iraq)

If you deduct the cost in $ and the human cost of dead and disabled troop's from the iraq war i think the American's would have waited for regime change from within iraq by arming the anti Saddam group's and SAS type raid's into Iraq
But they don't think like the british or the Chinese for that matter and play the long came

lots of things aldo, but i was just making an aside rather than wanting to start a whole new thread ...... of course if blair hadn't forced a blatant lie down our throats, i am sure parliament would not have allowed him to drag us into this war ..... that being so, the world would now be a slightly different place, though not necessarily either better or safer

So what. Lebanon is smaller. How much land do the Palestinians have? Almost nothing. Their land has been stolen by Israel (at least temporarily). The resistance by the Palestinians is aimed at returning that land.
