Iain.
Buy an applemac machine you just DO NOT have these sort of problems,it was the best move I have ever made,no more blue screens, get the odd spinning beachball of death, but you can just forcequit, fire up the browser and carry on surfing.
You will never reget the move.
Kind regards.

Iain, just a thought, you could see if there's anything on www.tucows.com that might help / offer an alternative.

Iain
I found the following:-
"Just execute this command to uninstall Windows Media Player 9 from Windows XP:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\wmp.inf,Uninstall
If you dont believe me, then check the wmp.inf before you do this.
I found this solution on Annoyances.org
http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/r1037649636
Thanks to Rachid, who posted this solution first.
I only had to correct the command line parameter afterwards from "%L" to "%1" and the good old Media Player 6.4 was working again."
Together with this:-
I'm trying to use your method to uninstall WMP 9, but everytime I put
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\wmp.inf,Uninstall
into the Run box, it will give a popup that says
Error: could not locate INF file '% windir%\INF\wmp.inf'
Q. What am I doing wrong?
A. Check if wmp.inf is in your C:\windows\inf directory.
If not, probably something went wrong trying to install or uninstall WMP9. Try installing WMP9 again and then use the uninstall command as mentioned to uninstall it again.
Not everybody knows how to apply the manual uninstall so I will explain it step by step:
Go to your "Start" menu and click "Run".
Copy "RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection % windir%\INF\wmp.inf,Uninstall"
into the dialog box and click "OK".
WMP9 should uninstall now.

Iain, I don't have the answer to that I'm afraid, short of suggesting you ask Matrox on their forum at http://www.matrox.com, but I'm curious as to why you would want to display a video split across two screens!

Error message on start up-- I get the following error message on start up "Unhandled exception C0000005 at address 100016b" then it says ok if I click on ok it dissappears and says the usual " do you want to send an error Report. Nothing seems to be affected on my PC and it of course cancels every time when I click ok. Pc is using Windows XP home and XP office.
Any ideas on how to correct appreciated-- many thanks.

Mikeran, have you installed any new software - I get this with Win 98 running (strangely) Norton Internet Security, OK before it was installed, Symantec not a lot of help.

Mike and Seymour.
A search on google came up with the following explaination which I hope points you towards a solution.
BTW Indications are that running anti spy software such as adaware will clear the problem.

Robber, Seymour clearly, leo1-- many thanks. I removed Delfin viewer and all is now ok. Yes I am afraid I have used Kazaa, useful for some things, but does tend to take over if not watched. Many thanks again to all .

Hi...I have had to recently reinstall Windows
with more than a little help
But sincce then I have not been able to read my attachments...
It just says OE removed access to the unsafe attachment in your email
But its happenning to all of them..ie ones that I get everyday and are always fine
If there some setting I could tweak to recify this annoying problem
Thanks
