ASOS have dropped quite significantly in the past week for no particular reason and I view this as the perfect opportunity to invest as I can see them bouncing right back up to the 5.50p mark in the next 2-3 weeks. STRONG BUY!!

yes ive been holding for over a year now and little movement but i think will go up soon, and been adding a long the way, look what happened the last time the interims were announced.

So to be clear...you can nominate any share you wish...the aim is that the 'nominated' share will double in price before ASC.

There are a number of views on whether or not ASC will double in price or how long it will take, but I think we have agreed amongst ourselves that we are looking at a run up in the share price sometime before Xmas, and then, if ASOS follows last year's news cycle, an announcement about Xmas trading and earnings...and then we have the Interims due. So that would take us through to 21st Feb or thereabouts, in 2005! All submissions for this challenge gratefully received!

Just to repeat the purpose. Its assumed all are in ASC and looking for a performance along the lines summarised well by johngtudor in 428. We are looking for shares which will emulate ASC to strengthen our portfolios. I will report progress on or about the first of the month. I will include an evaluation of the overall portfolio with equal investment in each share at the starting price. If good, it could be submitted to Shares; if not so good, we'll just use it as a learning curve!

I've included the cap.; clearly easier for the really low cap. shares to double but nothing wrong with that; perhaps easier for them to go belly up as well!

well done, willfagg, for the team ethic! Also for 'working' even later than me. Interesting that anticipated Xmas editorial for ASOS has already started. The negative comment pointed at ASOS that, because it is internet and start-up costs are not so significant, that it would be easy for competition to come in and 'do a Tony Blair', nees to be questioned. Tke key factors of customer and brand loyalty are not nearly so easy to achieve. ASOS have established a lead in a clear niche market and I suspect it would be an uphill struggle for anyone to make inroads. Management also clearly have flair, vital for this market - where are M&S? Christmas might come early!

YOO is a Play of the week in Shares and worth looking at (see bb)- mornings largest riser; EVO price target of 35p, likely to be revised upwards. You energy guys (includes gals) not having it all your own way! Mind, I have been sucked into PCI, PET and SEY. Not letting the ASC holding get any lower, though.

Welcome aboard to PCI, PET and SEY.I also have a fairly small holding in FTO. Not been with any of these for very long but having a good time so far. You came off remarkably unscathed with EPO wish I could say the same. Still flinch whenever that name is mentioned - they say time heals all wounds. I thought the write up on YOO was fab though think it will take a year or so to take off. biofuels also looks very interesting for the future. the futures bright the futures yellow (disel)

I read Evil K is shorting ASC and giving details on his site, anyone know what he's forecasting and why?

Not read it but heard he thinks it is model anyone can use (ie no patents) so could soon be open to competition. Not sure of his other reasons.

I think you have called ASC right thus far, certainly a quiet period now and appears to be trading within a determined band. Any good news and it will be off again. Still might dip though, although slowly losing my conviction that it will!!

Good to see YOO on the up, I am sure it was trading at 20p when I disappeared on Sunday! A very good week for you!!

Chose the right week to start with YOO! Almost totally due to being Shares play of the week, plus good IC write-up. Amazing that significance of MMTV acquisition (see bb) not picked up in press until Shares write-up. On previous record, may settle back to give better buy opportunity, although EVO could revise target price upward soon from present 35p. Hope some of you got in at 20p.

It would be good to have a tenth nomination (but see posts below) to round the portfolio off at 50K, but needs to be in by Monday. I am now in top 5 and looking at others.

Well here we go........... MPH (Marchpole Holdings) Feel there's plenty of upside still to come from this one! Would like to add that PET has got to be the fav so far though, but thats been taken already! grrr

Or Broker Network Holdings (BNH) can't believe no-one has spotted the potential... It is generating cash and should be minimum double from where it is now.

My article got published in shares mag a few weeks back, they certainly think it has massive potential... if you look at the comments they put.

As for ASC, I really don't know where it is going from here...I was going to buy back in but the fact that the FD sold his shares and the Chief exec seems to be dripping his out 'to satisfy institutional demand' made me think again. There are still buyers around, but I personally think they are trying to get a good deal on the business and sell it... and besides I am just about all in with BNH I only finished uni last year so don't have as much money to play with as you guys!!!
