Robber, Seymour clearly, leo1-- many thanks. I removed Delfin viewer and all is now ok. Yes I am afraid I have used Kazaa, useful for some things, but does tend to take over if not watched. Many thanks again to all .

Hi...I have had to recently reinstall Windows
with more than a little help
But sincce then I have not been able to read my attachments...
It just says OE removed access to the unsafe attachment in your email
But its happenning to all of them..ie ones that I get everyday and are always fine
If there some setting I could tweak to recify this annoying problem
Thanks

OK Seymour, do a search on Google, that's what I did, loads of software to do it and some explanations of how OE stores info. Hope it helps ;-)
(Sorry, but was being lazy when I asked the question - should have looked on Google first really)

Seymour, this is the short note I wrote myself sometime ago (it was written for 98 but should cover other windows versions with ease.)
Neil.
TO BACK UP AND RESTORE OUTLOOK EMAIL FILES.
To backup a single OE mail folder (called for example orders);
1. Save the appropriate .dbx file somewhere. (the file can be found in windows\application data\identities\a HEX No\Microsoft\Outlook Express)
To restore a mail folder,
1. Open OE and create a new mail folder (In this example call it orders).
2. Copy an unwanted email into this folder. (any old thing will do)
3. Close OE
4. Copy the backup copy of orders.dbx into the directory windows\application data\identities\a HEX No\Microsoft\Outlook Express
5. Open OE and access all your old emails with a contented smile

Can anyone suggest a Windows 'scripting' tool. Among other things, I would
like to save time and hassle by starting up several MoneyAm L2 sessions and pre-determined internet sessions with one command/script. The L2 EPICS and
internet URL's will stay the same for every activation.
Thanks

axdpc, you can do simple scripting with MSDOS. Create a file with Notepad called something.bat with a line for each window you want to create, e.g.
"c:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe" "http://www.moneyam.com"
You can create a shortcut to the file and insert it in your startup group of course if you want. The snag with this method is that the windows get created in no particular order. There are options for maximised/minimised windows etc though.

Seymour,
A tip which may help the process
If you are moving the files to another PC be sure that you are transferring them to THE SAME OR A NEWER VERSION of OE.
The only time this file transfer system has let me down was when I had a fresh instal of win98 on a PC and hadnt done the online updates. The OE files were from a PC which had a newer version of OE and the process failed totally.
Neil
PS edited comment, of course I should have gone on to say that updating OE on the second PC solved the problem

Does anyone know how to print or dump (to file) MoneyAm L2 screens shots?
Thanks.

axdpc,
trying holding down Ctrl then hitting the 'PrintScreen' button. The screen image should now be on clipboard so can be pasted into paint. From paint either print or save the image.
Theres also an application called screen grab pro which does the job a bit slicker;

Think it's ALT+PrintScreen for the active window, PrintScreen on its own for the whole screen, though you may have problems with the latter on a multi-screen setup.

robbber, the troll
The following works fine. Thanks.
CTL+PrintScreen ---> clipboard ---> paint
Will play around to see if I can dump a scrollable window to the clipboard.

axdpc, I downloaded a program from www.tucows.com called spx which will grab screenshots of whatever you want and save them in jpg format. I've used them for the screenshots in the Sharescope eod thread (You inspired me after you set up your diy thread!).
