Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Haze,
As you seem to be an insider, what or whom does Cameron surround himself with in No 10?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-28054433
Ex-PM aide charged over abuse images
Patrick Rock. a former senior adviser to the prime minister, has been charged by police over child abuse images.
I wonder how many brandies Cameron will sink when he gets home?

I dont understand why Call Me Dave made such a big thing about the Junker elevation, without the means or backbone to do something about it.
He was simply batting a bum wicket from the off, and heading for defeat by the German high command via Brussels.
It makes no sense to take a position where you cannot win and you have no fallback plan.
Why did he do it?

Because he is pretty thick.

I think he did the right thing. The choice of President is supposed to be decided by the heads of state and the assembly was attempting to bypass that system. There was more support for a different candidate than it appears. Merkel doesn't want Juncker but has supported him as she has coalition partners who want him and would cause problems for her. Cameron knew he couldn't stop Juncker but attempted to on principal.

I have to float a balloon into the sky with a thin copper wire attached.
Messages just seem to float away into space.
Copper replacement is getting expensive.

It had nothing to do with principles, Call Me Dave hasn't got any anyway, it's more to do with posturing and trying to fob off the tory awkward squad and the general public at large.
If there was any real intent to call a referendum, it could be done in the autumn and clear up the question of Greater €uropa once and for all.

It couldn't be done in the autumn. You obviously don't understand the processes involved. Legislation has to be passed to allow a referendum. That legislation could not get enough votes because the Libs and Labour don't want a referendum. Without a majority the Conservatives cannot win a vote on it. If you want a referendum then there is one and only one way to get it and that is to vote Conservative. Labour won't give you one and nor will the Libs. UKIP can't give you one.
