The "Con"servative Party, What are they good for? (this was the Thread Title but looks like it was to long to print up).

Well they primarily exist to support the extremes of big business and Off-Shore Tax Dodgers, using various methods to get elected, for example Divide and Conquer and playing to the less intelligent of the population through the Gutter Press etc.

Here's the latest wind-up rant from their leader Cameron.

don't panic Captain Mainwaring.

I'm not, unless there is a complete collapse of the economy, I think I will be OK.

As I have children and grandchildren, I wish there would be a tiny little bit of thinking and thought, which would go beyond the daily headlines and short term political "expediencies", by those in who are in "power", but obviously not in "control".

Honours for some of the Tory boys? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-19461367

Fewer cancer patients will have to look for work while receiving treatment, under revised proposals from the Department for Work and Pensions.

Caring "Con"servatives I think you'll agree.

More despicable than that:-

Inflation link for annual benefit increases may be axed
Job centre Jobseeker's allowance is among the benefits that would be cut under the plan

The government is considering breaking the link between inflation and the automatic annual increase in benefits, the BBC understands.

Many benefits - excluding the state pension - would be frozen for two years, with future increases pegged to average earnings rather than prices.

Hooray for this unprincipled coalition government.

Should that be horror!

Mr.Dodgy? A. Mitchell refuses to answer the "Specific question" just put to him on The World at One regarding what he said and what he didn't say to the Policeman. No real surprise is it as he's a fairly high ranking "Con" Party individual.

halifax - 24 Sep 2012 13:39 - 51 of 140

why doesn't Cameron do something decisive and sack him, even his own party dislike this loathsome individual.

Stan - 24 Sep 2012 14:21 - 52 of 140

Perhaps Mitchell will go the same way as Hunt.. that other oink in some sort of a re-shuffle.

Another "Con" Party cover-up: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-20662412

Pat Finucane's widow, Geraldine

"At every turn, dead witnesses have been blamed and defunct agencies found wanting. Serving personnel and active state departments appear to have been excused.

"The dirt has been swept under the carpet without any serious attempt to lift the lid on what really happened to Pat and so many others.

"This report is a sham, this report is a whitewash, this report is a confidence trick dressed up as independent scrutiny and given invisible clothes of reliability.

"But most of all, most hurtful and insulting of all, this report is not the truth."">Pat Finucane's widow, Geraldine
