chocolat,

I hope from your comment you were.......

A. in the game

B. doing better than my shamateur dabblings...:-))

hilary - 21 Sep 2005 08:37 - 4441 of 11056

I'm still looking for clues from the USD/JPY which I see as being supported at around 111.40 today with EUR/USD resistance at 1.2210.

Hurricane Rita is going to play a big part in what the Dollar does from here, imo. Their weather forecasters appear worse than ours .......... "we think it'll hit Texas, but it might turn either way and could hit either Mexico or Louisiana instead." That's a mighty long length of coastline to hedge your bets against!

hilary - 21 Sep 2005 09:51 - 4442 of 11056

I appear to have been stopped from my Dollar longs and am now short Dollar from while I was in the shower. There's probably a moral there somewhere.

chocolat - 21 Sep 2005 10:03 - 4443 of 11056

You're more organised than I am, Hils - still snuggled in my dressing gown ;)

mg - 21 Sep 2005 10:04 - 4444 of 11056

Hmmmmmmmm
Interesting moves. Lost quite a few points trying to long the cable then it came good for me and I pulled my positions @ 1.8085. Ended up flat from those and now I'm short (i.e. long $) and I'm out of the money again. I seem to be going back to my contrarian ways - need an injection of "go with the trend vaccine" 'cos I'm trading like a fart.

Flatulent mg

I needed a shower, Choccy ......... I'd just done a 1 and a half hour workout. I was all sweaty.

chocolat - 21 Sep 2005 10:15 - 4446 of 11056

Can't get into my website thingie to put up a chart. Was a bit sweaty over a cable long last night at 1.7986. Been willing it to retest 1.81. Reversed at 1.8116 just now - but no shower yet :S

mg - 21 Sep 2005 10:33 - 4447 of 11056

Would you 2 stop all this about hot and sweaty and showers - I've just had to go and have a cold one myself.

Cable-wise I'm feeling a little bit slacker around the thong - they're now in net profit.

mg (maybe I'm not quite as big a fart as I thought)

hilary - 21 Sep 2005 10:43 - 4448 of 11056

Wouldn't surprise me if the Dollar does try to consolidate with a bit of a rally, mg. It did fall quite sharply overnight.

Btw, do you ever go "Commando"?

Maggot - 21 Sep 2005 16:47 - 4449 of 11056

Well, a rotten day for me - all my spreadbets were in profit at one time, and all ended in losses. Most annoying was Dollar/Yen short from 1126, which went down to 1096-ish and finally stopped me out at 1144. Should have put on an oco, which frequently works for me. Not ruinous, but b***y annoying and unsettling.

chocolat - 21 Sep 2005 22:39 - 4450 of 11056

That's a shame Maggot.
Don't think of it as unsettling and look on the bright side.
Considering the market upheavals of the last year, the $ is just about where it was a year ago against the 4 major currencies ;)

mg - 22 Sep 2005 07:15 - 4452 of 11056

"Who Dares Wins" Hils - in fact you could describe my trading style and a bit of a thong with SAS tendencies.

mg SAS (Stupid and Suicidal)

mg - 22 Sep 2005 10:28 - 4453 of 11056

Chuffed to bits with a couple of overnight shorts which brought me a net +150 points. It looked a bit dodgy earlier on but all proved OK in the end.

Off to Hull in a minute.

And don't forget It's Never Dull In Hull

mg - 22 Sep 2005 20:22 - 4454 of 11056

Don't you just hate it when you withdraw too early ;)

Another couple of hundred points were there - but you win some and you could have won some more. Greedy I know but who cares wins.

chocolat - 23 Sep 2005 02:36 - 4455 of 11056

Too right, ten four :)

mg - 23 Sep 2005 08:12 - 4456 of 11056

Early night then choccie ;) Do you ever sleep?

Trying a bit contrarian trading with longs @ 865 and 870 - risky I know but positions based on a potential 60 minute MACD turn (so, in addition to premature withdrawl I'm now suffering from premature entry ......)

mg F.A.R.T (Frequently Adopting Risky Trading)

mg - 23 Sep 2005 08:27 - 4457 of 11056

Looks like I'm F.A.R.T ing in the wind ;(

ptholden - 23 Sep 2005 09:04 - 4458 of 11056

mornin' mg

Giving this FX a bit of a go. Just a novice, so tres small bets at the mo. Also long this morning from 860! MACD might be on the turn from the 10 min chart, so fingers crossed.

Hows the golf?
