That's a shame Maggot.
Don't think of it as unsettling and look on the bright side.
Considering the market upheavals of the last year, the $ is just about where it was a year ago against the 4 major currencies ;)

"Who Dares Wins" Hils - in fact you could describe my trading style and a bit of a thong with SAS tendencies.

Chuffed to bits with a couple of overnight shorts which brought me a net +150 points. It looked a bit dodgy earlier on but all proved OK in the end.

Off to Hull in a minute.

And don't forget It's Never Dull In Hull

Don't you just hate it when you withdraw too early ;)

Another couple of hundred points were there - but you win some and you could have won some more. Greedy I know but who cares wins.

Too right, ten four :)

Early night then choccie ;) Do you ever sleep?

Trying a bit contrarian trading with longs @ 865 and 870 - risky I know but positions based on a potential 60 minute MACD turn (so, in addition to premature withdrawl I'm now suffering from premature entry ......)

Welcome on Board - worth watching the pro's on FX - Hilary is the star analyst/trader and choccie is the emerging starlet - for gawd's sake don't take any notice of me ;)

As you can see, I have my own little world.

MACD is a good 'un - definitely worth using it as a key indicator (IMHO) - with SMA and EMA as complimentary. I'd already set 880 as a possible entry, last night - that's why I went in at 65 and 70 - would/should have left it a bit longer - 860 looks a good 'un. However, "proper" traders - like Hils and choccie would probably wait until the turn has actually happened - I often get caught out by trying to anticipate it - not good form - but sometimes I get away with it !! If the turn has occured you know that (on the whole) you are then trading with the trend - but it's a bugger when it's a fake and reverses. Again, good form would be to accept that you've got it wrong and get out. All theoretical for me I'm afraid - I often hang on in there - in denial ;(

As far as the Golf is concerned, I haven't really played much since the MoneyAM do - so I suspect it's crap. I see you're still playing in shark-infested waters !!!

mg (Still in my F.A.R.T bubble)

I was also looking at 880 last night and even left a buy order in the event it got there, was quite surprised to see this morning that the order was not filled and going backwards. Hence 860 this morning, although 840 looked (looks) like it might be on the cards. We shall see. Anything lower than 840 and I'll close tout suite!

Choccie is giving me loads of help, for which I will no doubt be eternally grateful!

I see quite a lot of Mark who is also considering getting into FX. Also play with Predateur (golf that is) about once a month, you should try and join us sometime.

Nice spikes at 10 am - made 40 pretty safe points, but should have been a lot more, I suppose. I assume it was the Italian figures?

hilary - 23 Sep 2005 10:25 - 4462 of 11056

No. It was because of the Yuan.

Morning all.

markusantonius - 23 Sep 2005 13:12 - 4465 of 11056

MG, you have mail, sir...

hilary - 25 Sep 2005 16:15 - 4466 of 11056

Errrrrrrm. They seem to have updated the calendar in PDF this week, but not in GIF. Maybe the Fairy will try it a bit later on.

MightyMicro - 25 Sep 2005 16:50 - 4467 of 11056

Hil: I noticed that, minor cockup in the calendar department.

I'll have a word with the FX Fairy . . .

MightyMicro - 26 Sep 2005 09:01 - 4469 of 11056

Morning all.

I expect the good folks at DailyFX will fix their weekly Calendar at some point.

Meanwhile, for your comfort and convenience, the FX Fairy has added a link to the PDF of the Calendar in the header.
