Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

What a defeatist way of looking at things Haystack ,how about they get the job done ? you really think the EU has us over a barrel ,well it does not .
Some years from now the UK will be strong and out of the EU and what's more the EU is crumbling ,i believe it won't exist in it's current form 10 years from now.
You really have faith in your Tory party don't you.

Just as well we have a world class Foreign Secretary. He’ll be looking up what rhymes with ‘coup’. https://t.co/Ixv4nmm94N

Any mention about what happened up in Scotland ?....it seems other news has inevitably put TM's visit in the shadow......

It looks like the coup in Turkey has failed unfortunately. Turkey needed a coup to get rid of Erdogan. He is ruling very mcuh like a dictator. There will be another coup or someone will hopefully assassinate him.

It turns out that when Boris was booed at the French Embassy, it was about three Brits doing the booing and not the French who were applauding and cheering.

The events in France will inevitably lead to the further rise in France of the extreme right : they will end up holding power of some sort within the French government, and rightly so as it seems there are great problems with differences between French people and the growing arab/muslim community over there.....

This is why the UK has turned away form the EU....it has to be said that it has not turned its back on Europe in forms of cooperating/trading and Nato membership : do we want all these godforsaken people from unfortunate/desolate it has to be said countries arriving in our townships ? : NO is the answer.....Britain is basically what it should be : British.....we already have more than our fair share of overseas people,...it sounds tough, but those people are big..big trouble....

Soon other countries will hold referendums perhaps : Sweden, Denmark, and the Netherlands are all considering this realising that the EU as it is will end in disaster and that salvation is in departure from from what the French might describe as "la merde quoi" !......

The border police seem to be doing their job at the moment. I wonder if May has given them a kick.

My wife was having her nails done yesterday in North London. Border Police came in and asked for documents from all the workers. They had a tablet with connection to the Home Office. They compared photos from the HO with the staff. One woman was here on a student visa which had not been renewed. They read her rights to her. She said, "do I have to come with you?". They replied, "Yes, you are under arrest and will be deported".

The Border Police then went into the next business and were working their way down the High Street.

They might do well do go round the back and wait for sudden departures....

Car washes seem a likely potential target.

Hope mine doesn't get shut down because they do a fantastic job. Haven't nicked the mobile phone yet....but I never get given any £1 coins they might have found under the front car seats. They must play 'Finders Keepers' because I know there must be some occasionally.

MaxK - 16 Jul 2016 14:19 - 4516 of 12628

They're probably fake anyway EL.

Fred1new - 16 Jul 2016 14:41 - 4517 of 12628

I hope Liam, Boris and Dave are polishing their begging bowls.

Interesting to see the toll charges will be for "freight" traffic through EU will be?

MaxK - 16 Jul 2016 15:31 - 4518 of 12628

Fred (little ray of sunshine)

I suspect toll charges, if any, will closely resemble toll charges for European traffic on UK roads.

Sorry to spoil your illusions.

And here is something else to cheer you up:

Fred1new - 16 Jul 2016 16:32 - 4519 of 12628

Just wondering, but I will wait and see.

If I had the upkeep of a transport line I would expect to charge a "toll" in one form or another for its users.

Of course, my motor home will be exempt.

Actually, I think May's choice of "negotiators" is very apposite.

It will either make them or break them, but it is certain to keep them busy for the next 5years.
