Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Test post as the site seems to be flowing better now...(I have been unable to post messages this am, getting always "The page cannot be displayed")

I had been having the same issues as Di above plus others too, which Ian will know about from my email.

Cheers, Madison

Site seems to be noticeably faster today which has been a complaint of mine for months now.

Have two Terminal windows open on one computer (2 screens) with L2 windows in each Terminal. Every morning around 07:50 I get the blue-screen error message "You have logged in from somewhere else", which I haven't, but I presumed it was a cookie issue. Just happened for a second time today. Why is this occuring?

Still getting other terminal windows with static HTML content, refresh at an interval, logging out (then displaying a login screen) at seemingly random intervals.

Kyoto,

Just spoken to JT, and this is a cookies issue - could you try first thing in the morning, clicking on the Logout button, to clear the old session, and then log in afresh. Hopefully this should cure the issue.

Ian.. this has happened three times to me today too. It happens every day. I have done the log out thingy with no luck, but will try it again tomorrow

Kyoto - 02 May 2006 14:10 - 4757 of 7315

Ian - I think I've tried the logout approach before without any success - but I'll give it a go tomorrow and post here if I still get the logouts/L2 problems.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 02 May 2006 14:24 - 4758 of 7315

Jules/Kyoto,

Thanks for the feedback - if you could both try tomorrow and let me know and we can take it from there.

I made a point of logging out and back in this morning (though I always get the login box anyway on a morning), and no L2 failure at 07:50... so it looks like there's some progress there.

I just lost a static HTML page (set to 60s refresh) from a Terminal window - took me back to a login page. I guess this is about four hours after I first opened the Terminal window. Perhaps this is meant to be normal as I've seen this four-hour figure mentioned, and I should expect my next Terminal window to start having problems in about ten minutes as I opened that a little later originally.

Kyoto,

thanks for the feedback let me know what happens.

Spoke too soon. Just had all the L2 windows in my two Terminals blue-screen on me with the message that I am logged in somewhere else, which I am not. Can't refresh the windows and have to shut down IE and restart it.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 03 May 2006 13:43 - 4764 of 7315

Kyoto,

This is definately a cookie issue, which is causing this, I will pass this onto Jonathan to see whether he can offer any wise words.

Hi Ian...... got the log in message again:-(

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 03 May 2006 14:52 - 4766 of 7315

Kyoto,

yes, it's a cookie problem - it's the same issue that's been present for quite a while.

we're looking at a permanent fix but that won't be in for a while.

Jules,

there is a slight database issue - if you refresh, the book should clear up.
