The link about Goldstone reconsidering the UN report on Isarel's war crimes is very interesting. He has caved in to immense pressure and threats towards him and his family.

What is more signifcant is that the UN have just refused to withdraw the Goldstone report. An official UNHRC spokesman said in a press release on Monday that UN reports could not be cancelled because of articles in the press based on personal opinions.

The other members of the committe that wrote the Goldstone report do not agree with Goldstone's change of heart. You have to realise that Goldstone is also a Zionist, so perhaps he wasn't a good choice to be on the committee in the first place.

ITLOB - let's put to one side that goldstone is almost assuredly jewish, because some ass will no doubt use that as a prime factor in the argument ......

however, i do confess that i view that latest report with a very jaundiced eye, unfair as that may be in reality ..... it concerns me greatly that goldstone is an american, that the article appears in washington post and above all, that usa has unwaveringly supported israel in some more than dubious circumstances, not least in offering only a small slap on the wrist for israel's continuing encroachment on the west bank which is totally unwarranted and more than provocative

You also have to realise that the item published in the Washington Post on Sunday was just his unedited opinion. There were follow up articles in the same newspaper not agreeing with Goldstone and crisicising Israel. The articles make the point that his change of heart does not absolve Israel of its crimes at all. It is another example of a US puppet dancing to its master's tune.

I am sorry for all this fuss over the report that bears my name. I get confused easily at my age. Maybe I had my sun glasses on and did not see everything or my hearing aid was not turned up. I received lots of letters telling me I was wrong and offering to take me on a long walk (which was nice). Who knows what the truth of it all is. It could be this, it could be that; how would I know? Why ask me? Best not to get involved. Who would guess that some nice person put a few million dollars in my bank account; how thoughtful. I must go now as my plane to the South Seas is leaving soon and I need to buy some sun screen.
