Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

I made a point of logging out and back in this morning (though I always get the login box anyway on a morning), and no L2 failure at 07:50... so it looks like there's some progress there.

I just lost a static HTML page (set to 60s refresh) from a Terminal window - took me back to a login page. I guess this is about four hours after I first opened the Terminal window. Perhaps this is meant to be normal as I've seen this four-hour figure mentioned, and I should expect my next Terminal window to start having problems in about ten minutes as I opened that a little later originally.

Kyoto,

thanks for the feedback let me know what happens.

Spoke too soon. Just had all the L2 windows in my two Terminals blue-screen on me with the message that I am logged in somewhere else, which I am not. Can't refresh the windows and have to shut down IE and restart it.

Kyoto,

This is definately a cookie issue, which is causing this, I will pass this onto Jonathan to see whether he can offer any wise words.

Hi Ian...... got the log in message again:-(

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 03 May 2006 14:52 - 4766 of 7315

Kyoto,

yes, it's a cookie problem - it's the same issue that's been present for quite a while.

we're looking at a permanent fix but that won't be in for a while.

Jules,

there is a slight database issue - if you refresh, the book should clear up.

kernow - 03 May 2006 18:00 - 4771 of 7315

After your tinkering I now:
get a security warning because the certificate does not match the site name,
log in repeatedly. Only twice this morning but entering/leaving secure site cycles more than once.
click on News link tells me pop ups are blocked when IE tells me they are allowed.
Advice please

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 04 May 2006 07:55 - 4772 of 7315

kernow,

What url is in the location bar when you get the 'invalid site name' warning? I'm unable to repeat the error using IE 6.

Clicking on the 'News' menu option shouldn't bring up any pop-ups - where are you seeing this?

J.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 04 May 2006 07:56 - 4773 of 7315

kernow,

Even using IE 7 I'm unable to reproduce the certificate problem. Are you going to that page from a bookmark per chance?

J.

kernow - 04 May 2006 08:13 - 4774 of 7315

Ah - all works fine this morning! Yes I do use a link from favourites and the News problem was after clicking the stock N flag from stockwatch. I'll post again if any repeat problems. Thanks for responding.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 04 May 2006 08:32 - 4775 of 7315

karnow,

remove that bookmark and re-bookmark fresh and you shouldn't have that problem any more.

I cannot download the Chartist article from the 'Shares Magazine'. Other articles are OK. My Adobe says there is a fault with the chartist article, thanks H

sutherlh1,

I will take a look,

IanT(MoneyAM) - 04 May 2006 13:02 - 4778 of 7315

sutherlh1,

I have just downloaded the chartist section with no problems - can you try saving it to your desktop when you get to the download and open it from there?

Might also want to update or download the latest version of Adobe if you haven't already, just to cover all the bases.

Ian

Thanks Ian, must be a problem with my machine, I am using dial up as away from home. Adobe updated when I read the other articles. I have saved it to desktop but I still get the adobe message 'There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired' I will try to get on broadband later today to see if that helps, H
