LIBYA - updating news

cynic - 02 Mar 2011 11:48

starting this thread, which i hope will be short-lived, to keep the board up to date with latest reports gleaned from the net

Cynic,

More insight, you do have a very limited ability of comprehension.

Try reading my posts again and get help from somebody when doing so.

It may lead to more understanding.

As far as the Milibands' family history is concern, I have no objection to the communist influences of that period and can understand their positioning.

I think unlike you they have moved on and reviewed previous philosophies.

Although I often differ in some of their positioning, the arguments advanced by them appear thoughtful and not dependant on mantras to give themselves validity or misconception of their personal value.

Whether, they have the qualities of a future PMs, I am as yet uncertain, but consider that they would be better than the impoverished government we have at present.

Like many tories, I hope that Cameron is replaced as soon as feasible.

God help us, if the replacement is Ken Clarke, who seems to me, to be developing Alzheimer's disease.

Mind so does the rest of cabinet.

PS, Our Minister of Prisons should go back to selling fags. (or fagging.)

cynic - 20 Apr 2011 14:49 - 480 of 685

just as you could never vote for cameron, ditto me for milliband, even if he is jewish!

Fred1new - 20 Apr 2011 15:15 - 481 of 685

That was his mother's fault.

How about you?

cynic - 20 Apr 2011 15:27 - 482 of 685

may have been my father's, but i don't know who he was

Fred1new - 20 Apr 2011 15:33 - 483 of 685

Not surprised!

But, I would have thought you were a self made one!

(I thought Jewishness was based on mother's conviction.)

cynic - 20 Apr 2011 15:38 - 484 of 685

mine was never convicted let alone deported!
yes, you're right ..... to be truly jewish it is indeed matrilineal on the basis that the mother's i/d is usually more obvious

In The Land of the B - 20 Apr 2011 15:39 - 485 of 685

"I thought Jewishness was based on mother's conviction"

Convicted of being Jewish, huh?

cynic - 20 Apr 2011 15:40 - 486 of 685

fred's a rabid islamist or similar lol

Fred1new - 20 Apr 2011 16:01 - 487 of 685

How do you know, if you don't know who he was?

I thought you were beginning to wander, or was that your father?

cynic - 20 Apr 2011 16:06 - 488 of 685

not all jews are wanderers ..... now enough of this silliness lol

cynic - 20 Apr 2011 16:47 - 489 of 685

Bernard M - 21 Apr 2011 06:38 - 492 of 685

Keep trying Mr.C you will get there.

cynic - 21 Apr 2011 07:15 - 493 of 685

i'm glad haystack managed to bring up the pic of our family car, but damned if i know how he did it, especially as that is assuredly my pic

cynic - 21 Apr 2011 08:16 - 494 of 685

meanwhile ..... perhaps it's my imagination, but there seems to be little or no news coming out of libya ..... hard to believe that they've all packed up for a very long easter holiday break, so just perhaps there's a news blackout imposed

Stan - 21 Apr 2011 09:05 - 495 of 685

It's your imagination,

Fernando Torres has signed up to be a peacekeeper in Libya. He's doing a good job too... no shots have been reported so far.

cynic - 23 Apr 2011 08:14 - 496 of 685

no quite sure of the implications of the following .... "The Libyan army could pull out of the rebel-held city of Misratah and be replaced by armed tribesmen, a senior government official has said." ..... my guess is that it means MG has given up hope of recapturing this key town, so will pretend that "allowing" the local tribes to take over is his true tactical choice

in the same article i also came across a new and vile americanism - attrited ..... makes one want to hate the amis with a vengeance!

Hope the bastard was inside at the time.
