It is now time to switch to a new Money AM football blog as the world cup is now over and we all look to the future.....World cup 2010 is over, Bravo Espana, and Forlan, once again and bring on the new season !.....I never expected the last thread to be such a success...thanks all.... so this new one might go on for years without the need to edit the title...we shall see...

Top of the leagues Burnley Goalkeeper Tom Heaton in the England squad again http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35863962

Won't play but might get a few minutes on as a sub for experience.

1974 Dutch. Influenced me as a lad on how to try and play.

required field - 24 Mar 2016 21:04 - 4788 of 6918

An extraordinary player, one of a fantastic group of dutch footballers, played in my opinion in the best footballing team ever to have graced the planet even surpassing that Brazil 70 side that flourished just one summer : : Ajax of the 69-73 era that dominated the European and world club scene before moving with Johann Neeskens to Barcelona......Holland 74 (national side) were incredible as well, just a little unlucky not to have won the final, one of the unforgettable greats has left us.....

required field - 24 Mar 2016 21:43 - 4789 of 6918

Well...the Scots have won tonight....away to the Czechs....I bet Scotland will be difficult in the world cup qualifiers....anyway...but first the home nations have the Euro finals to look forward to....Wales, Northern Ireland, England, Eire ....all going places.....and...and ...oh dear....I might have gaffed.....

required field - 25 Mar 2016 20:07 - 4790 of 6918

Crikey...Germany-England......I reckon we might get a result...: the Germans don't like it when you run at their backs and lay off to a runner that hits the ball hard...and that's just what England are good at.....looking further ahead...Norwich v Newcastle....blimey.....one to watch......

Chris Carson - 25 Mar 2016 21:11 - 4791 of 6918

8/1 with willi hill rf, both teams to score and England win!

Bet Dil's having some of that LOL!!!

required field - 25 Mar 2016 21:54 - 4792 of 6918

Going for a win or draw for England Chris.....I think that the Germans are perhaps past their best and will need to rebuild.....they have been fantastic in the last world cup but they might be heading for a trough.....even the best can have bad days....England I reckon are in the ascendancy if I can put it that way.....it's risky if you bet.....double chance for me.....it's strange....our clubs are dipping in the European competitions but Roy's lot have a very good basis for performing extremely well this next summer.....I'm praying Hart is going to perform some miracles because he and the other goalkeepers are the key to England success !.

required field - 25 Mar 2016 22:04 - 4793 of 6918

Saw a bit of France-Holland......nothing to scare Roy's boys....but if I have to be critical of the Dutch and I have noticed this with today's Ajax and other Dutch teams is that : their football is perhaps good passing but where is the penetration ?.....I would have been screaming at midfield players from the bench....dear oh dear...... they are passing the ball around but no sudden quick darting runs at goal instead they turn and go back to passing again......it's like dutch elm's desease....has got into their soccer....same at club level.......France will be tough on home ground that's for sure.....

dreamcatcher - 26 Mar 2016 12:32 - 4794 of 6918

Have I lost a tenner tonight? put £10 on at Ladbrokes for England to beat Germany but both must score. Not bad odds of 12/1. :-))

dreamcatcher - 26 Mar 2016 12:35 - 4795 of 6918

I hope for a 2 -1 win for England.

Chris Carson - 26 Mar 2016 13:45 - 4796 of 6918

Worth a tenner at least. Germany not the team they were. Sturridge, Vardy, Kane and Welbeck best choice for a forward line for years. Hope Hodgson plays Barkley behind any of the above. Well done on your 12/1 dc (twat) :0)

dreamcatcher - 26 Mar 2016 14:22 - 4797 of 6918

Cheers Chris. :-))

Chris Carson - 26 Mar 2016 19:40 - 4798 of 6918

Henderson FFS! Bye Bye tenners dc :0)

I suppose that the german version of the betting goes a bit like this :.....angland...nauties attack......deutch nowz in pozession....mobilatzion complete.....dangerous germanz zattack....zat sort of zing...I mean that sort of thing sorry....

required field - 26 Mar 2016 20:43 - 4800 of 6918

Alvays lookz on ze brightz zide of zlife......we could be two down.....

dreamcatcher - 26 Mar 2016 20:45 - 4801 of 6918

It's not over till the fat lady sings. :-))

ExecLine - 26 Mar 2016 20:45 - 4802 of 6918

At half-time an England 2-1 win bet is now 18/1 with Bet365

Our ace attacking pair from Spurs haven't really got going yet - and then there's also Danny Wellbeck.....

And....our goalie is now 6'6" tall. So Germany now have no chance!

Hmmm?
