<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. The revised equities are shown on the licence map (subject to regulatory approval and completion of the farm-in well).

A) WE ARE APPROACHING TARGET DEPTH, NOT THERE YET DUE TO 2 DAYS OF PROBLEMS.

B) THE SELL OFF YESTERDAY AFTERNOON WAS A CYNICAL ATTEMPT BY SOMEONE TO ACTIVATE STOP LOSSES ETC AND THEY KNEW IT WOULD WORK AS RKH WAS DOWN 17% AND DES ONLY 7%, THE FEAR WAS ALREADY THERE.

C) THE SELL OFF WAS COMPOUNDED AT AROUND 4PM AS THIS IS THE TIME SPREAD BET FIRMS MAKE THEIR MARGIN CALLS, AND WITH THE STOCK DOWN AROUND 12% AT THE TIME MANY PEOPLE COULDNT MEET THEM WHICH IS WHY THE RECOVERY STALLED.

D) SOME PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MUGGED ON THE BACK OF THESE RUMOURS, NOBODY KNOWS THE RESULT YET! IMO.G1

As I'm back in...now the question is do I wait for Rachel results ?....feels funny to be in the rampers squad....!....

gibby - 14 Oct 2010 12:07 - 4858 of 6492

I read all the papers - according to the express today city rumour is that Rachel results not expected to be that good - i believe rumours like that have hit the des sp more than rkh - question is what to believe? buy at current ((bargain (imo)) price or what?!

mitzy - 14 Oct 2010 12:15 - 4859 of 6492

I dont like the look of the chart.

required field - 14 Oct 2010 12:18 - 4860 of 6492

rf / mitzy - agreed - a flip of the coin!

mitzy - 14 Oct 2010 12:24 - 4862 of 6492

I agree there rf.

required field - 14 Oct 2010 12:30 - 4863 of 6492

There is another thing that Desire have the rig for the next few wells, and we have just had the crash or a crash....now if the next well finds oil but perhaps not in commercial quantities, is it going to dive ?....depends how quickly the next spud will be on offer plus will they have another go again in the same area later on ...say a mile away...if some of these questions are answered,...then perhaps not such a terrible dive will happen if they don't hit 50 million barrels....in fact if they hit 20 million...the sp could indeed climb....
