cannabis and the like are ok if it can be shown for personal consumption, but certainly not if you are a dealer

personally, i concur with the view that persistent use of cannabis, especially in its stronger forms, depletes brain cells and is also quite likely to lead on to other and even more harmful stuff

of course, the same might be said of cigarettes and even alcohol, and while i'ld happily ban the former, i'ld fight against the latter ..... such consistency!

Ed Miliband has admitted that his party must “fight for every hour and every day” to hold on to its Scottish MPs after a shock poll predicted Labour could be wiped out by the Scottish National party next year.

The dramatic poll for STV said the SNP could win up to 54 Scottish seats and said Labour’s popularity was its lowest level since 2007, only a month after Labour had spearheaded a victorious referendum campaign against independence.

The poll put the SNP at a record high of 52% in Westminster voting intentions and Labour at just 23%.

In a separate poll for the Times, 43% of respondents said they would back the SNP in a general election up from 20% in 2010. Support for Labour fell to 27%, down from 42% at the last election. Just 15% of Scottish voters said they trusted Miliband.

It is strange when an applicant for an appointment is allowed 7 applications for a job.

Also, stranger when the Employer is involved with writing the applicant's application.

Also, picking somebody whose background is different to the necessities of the job is also interesting.

Mind she does have Theresa's interest and Dave's full confidence.

Let's make soft drug use legal then.

If we did, it would not alter the "drugs are bad for you", "using soft drugs leads users on to using hard drugs" stance positions or arguments.

However, it would reduce the criminality of using soft drugs. They can then also then be obtained by users from better, now more legal sources; made of properly supervised and controlled purity; taxes can be levied; the law keepers can spend their time better; the bottom drops out of the lower end of the drug pushing market, etc., etc.

Could it not be The "Some of users of soft drugs often move on to using "harder" drugs."

If there is a change of attitude towards drugs, then the infrastructures have to be present before the "rules" or "laws" are changed.

That means "dispensers" and control regulations of the dispensing.

Facilities for treatment of those to be thought of addictive.


Major change of law for the "chemists", who will attempt to produce illegal "mind" affecting drugs.

I would hope long term sentences for this group of 15-20 year terms, with confiscation of property etc..

Re - Cannabis, my wife is crippled with arthritis for the pain she has been prescribed morphine which she has been taking for the past five years. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that she is addicted to the stuff. I sometimes wonder if it was proved that cannabis in whatever form did the same job i.e. pain relief would she then be addicted to cannabis? Sadly I don't know any drug dealers and even if i did the cost would no doubt be prohibitive. In Scotland under the present govt. prescriptions are free.

You can get tincture of cannabis. It is a liquid and can be used as a medicine. I believe it can be prescribed. I knew a doctor who used to get it.

Sorry to hear that Chris. The percentage of people living in Scotland who suffer from arthritis must be pretty high and the poor climate was one reason I decided to move down South. I had a friend who lived in Stirling who suffered terribly from arthritis and he moved to Portugal a few years ago - his health is much improved as a result and so has his golf!

There is also Sativex, which is oil of cannabis. It can be prescribed through pain clinics.

Sativex is a mainstream medicine. It is made by Bayer & Bayer. I believe it is what is prescribed in Scotland

Ok Hays - Worth checking out, she has an appointment on 4th to see if acupuncture helps.

My mother had terrible arthritis for years. She had two replacement knee joints. Both were done in Canada and then both done again in the UK. Her hands were very bad as well. Beware of the arthritis drugs that they prescribe. They are very powerful. The side effects are bad. She died of heart failure due to the drugs.

My son is finishing his Halloween costume. He is going as Shaun in Shaun of the Dead. White shirt, blood, cricket bat covered in blood.

The house they used is near where I grew up and not far from here. I used to take the kids in the supermarket where Shaun goes from his house.
