THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Whatever turns you on comes to mind!

MaxK - 02 Nov 2014 23:03 - 48997 of 81564

The papers keep suggesting the wee Sturgeon getting into bed with Millibandus to form the next coalition gov.

Can anyone see this happening, and what would be the lightly outcome?

doodlebug4 - 02 Nov 2014 23:08 - 48998 of 81564

The likely outcome might be some rather ugly offspring! Sturgeon will do whatever she thinks is best for the SNP.

Haystack - 02 Nov 2014 23:13 - 48999 of 81564

It won't produce an overall net figure more than Labour plus SNP last time. The balance would be shifted that's all.

In 2010 it was
labour 258
SNP 6

That overall figure of 264 is not enough to form a government. It would still need the Libs to make a majority.

Don't forget that the Conservatives got 307

goldfinger - 03 Nov 2014 00:20 - 49000 of 81564

It would be superb and move labour further to the left as per the real socialists are wanting and Hays is wrong it would be a fair majority, he is forgetting the drift to UKIP on the right.

Some analys are predicting as manys as 40 seats for UKIP at the GE but a more realistic amount is around 20 or just over as discussed on newsnight a couple of weeks ago.

In fact id go as far as saying Labour and the SNP together would be better than an overal majority for labour, just my thoughts but Labour have needed a kick back to the left for a few years now. Blairs new Labour as served its purpose.

Now MP's expenses records are SHREDDED amid accusations authorities are trying to avoid any further scrutiny of claims
Records of expenses claims, receipts and correspondence deleted
Destruction of pre-2010 records ends speculation over more prosecutions
Documents are routinely being destroyed after three years
Details of the practice emerged after concerns raised over MPs' claims

Chancellor Angela Merkel has reportedly warned David Cameron she would rather see the UK leave the EU than compromise over the principle of free movement.

Der Spiegel news magazine quotes German government sources as saying she feared Britain was approaching "the point of no return".

Downing Street has not commented on the reports.

Mr Cameron wants to renegotiate the terms of the UK's continued membership before holding an in-out referendum.

The prime minister said that freedom of movement of workers would be "at the very heart of my renegotiation strategy for Europe", but Mrs Merkel is said by the magazine to have made clear she will withdraw her support for the UK's continued EU membership if he continues to push for migration reform.

yes get us out now and send home all migrants to Germany and france just put them on a one way ticket to france and let them have them we do not

These disturbing images have spread across social networking sites and extremist forums, having been posted online by the gunmen themselves.

"News reports of beheadings have been substantiated by witnesses and residents of the areas in which the crimes were committed," said Syrian journalist Mohammed al-Abdullah, who currently resides in Cairo.

"The majority of these crimes are carried out openly in public squares, where ISIL gunmen display the severed heads for days next to the corpses, which are sometimes mutilated or burned," he said.

The most recent of these incidents were the beheadings of Lebanese soldiers Abbas Medlej and Ali al-Sayed and the beheadings of American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff, images of which were posted online in August and September.

Earlier in August, ISIL gunmen beheaded eight rival opposition fighters in Akhtarin, rural Aleppo, al-Abdullah said. They also decapitated six Syrian army troops after seizing control of the headquarters of the 17th Division near the city of al-Raqa in late July, and hung the heads on the fence around al-Naeem roundabout garden in the city's centre.

In August, ISIL beheaded three men from the Sunni Shaitat tribe, which had rebelled against its rule in the rural part of Deir Ezzor province.
