Yeah! I feel its been a good week with the stakes built up in SEO (overweight) and MDW (average but could well become overweight too). With SEO, my head says its a winner (excellent fundamentals and charts); my heart says tis a winner (seem nice people in the company and on the thread); my guts say its a winner (a reall good, old fashioned gut instinct). A triple whammie! Can't do better than that!

Last year's finals were on 15th Jan. Anyone aware of this year's date?

Eric

Prelims 23/2/2005 Sharescope quotes this but it is probably finals, judging by last year.

Nice to read sensible posts ( even those of opposing views) instead of the utter childish rubbish posted on some competative sites.

Once again Tesco/Asda are in a price war.. We all know this is for one reason only to increase market share. According to the latest figures Tesco once again increased their share percentage of the market. Who can doubt that WHEN the first deal is signed prob'ably with Asda the others will have no option but to follow. The signing of the first full deal, will be like the opening of the flood gates. The only problem I can see in the near future will be Seo struggling to keep up with demand. Thats a problem we all can live with.

AdieH - 17 Jan 2005 10:23 - 503 of 27111

Welcome aboard greekman, yes sensible posts here (at present), I think the price will rise but if you read previous posts there is the court case with BPRG to also get sorted, that has gone quiet as we are awaiting BPRG to assess what damages they are claiming... Don't think there will be signicant rise until this case is out of the way.

greekman - 18 Jan 2005 09:46 - 504 of 27111

AdieH.. Thanks, been following SEO closely for about a year. Aware re the court case ect. Came to this board from a rival due to the afore-mentioned rubbish being posted. I dont think anyone knows the full outcome re the costs/damages ect, although i think a big slice has been put into the share price. I dont think the outcome at its worst can be too bad allowing for the sensible account i think the court will take, within the constraints of costs/damages allowed. (Hope i read it right). As to the price war ect, retail analysts (2) on BBC this am both stated that the only potential danger to Tesco's market hold could come from Asda (Wallmart) so if Asda do the first deal anyone doubt that within a few months Tesco would follow. Both analysts put Tesco's market lead down to them being first in all inovations. As to SEO package sealing they may have to follow and not lead for a change.

This was in todays Daily Express

Stanelco was unchanged yesterday (17/01/05) at 6.37p despite repeat Buy advice from Evolution Securities. The broker said it saw scope for massively upgrading its profit forecast for Stanelco, which is testing its new system for sealing plastic containers.

I think this stock is starting to hot up.

greekman - 18 Jan 2005 17:07 - 506 of 27111

Link re food packaging (starch). Seo not mentioned but interesting all the same.
http://www.foodproductiondaily.com/news/news-ng.asp?n=57351-future-of-starch

Re the above. Posted due to the benefit for Seo when biogradeable packaging really takes off, (and it will).. Seo for the sealing products.

For those war'y of opening links i will post the gist of thje article if requested.

just a thought about yestedays announcement. can we expect this retired employee to cash in his options?

Stanelco PLC
17 January 2005

Stanelco Plc

Today announces the issue of 871,080 ordinary shares of 0.1p each representing
0.10% of the issued capital.

These shares have been issued to a retired employee under the Enterprise
Management Incentives Share option scheme at an exercise price of 2.87p.

An application has been made to the London Stock Exchange and the UK Listing
Authority for these shares to be admitted to the official list.

Dealings are expected to commence on 20 January 2005

anway, price has been holding nice and steady for a while now, staying above the 50ma for two months plus. dont know much about charts but that surely is a good thing. 200ma has turned up, too. could do with a good solid positive announcement now.

EWRobson - 18 Jan 2005 22:10 - 509 of 27111

I don't know whether some of you are in PDX or follow it, but had my knuckles rapped on that site because I kept comparing the share unfavourably with SEO! There are a number of parallels between the two companies, with SEO further ahead in terms of product to market. What is ridiculous is that the cap. of PDX is twice that of SEO. I have also come to the conclusion that the sp of PDX is quite reasonable and have taken an exploratory stake - analyst forecast acceptable of price doubling. So where does that leave SEO - at least 4 times undervalued! Now, no one likes Evolution, do they, but they are no fools; and they are saying that their previous price target of 10p is far too low. The sp will be, and I have a number of CFDs which agree with me (!), 20p by the year end (probably much sooner). If that makes me a ramper (never been accused of that before!) so be it. Conclusion is that all of us should be overweight in SEO. Lets face it, the court case is peanuts compared with the value of the business coming through. What is the conclusive argument? The royalties! 40K to buy the machine and then 30K per annum royalties. PER ANNUM! In year 2, add pretty well the value of sales in year 1 to the sales in year 2. In year 3, add pretty well the value of sales in year 1 and the value of sales in year 2 to the sales in year 3. We mathematicians have a word for it - it is EXPONENTIAL. I promise not to ramp the share again for at least a week! But you chaps and chapesses showed me the value of the share - you must act on your beliefs!

Having said all that, I am really quite enthusiastic about the prospects!

Eric

AdieH - 19 Jan 2005 08:23 - 510 of 27111

Well said Eric but the price won't move significantly until compensation is sorted with BPRG, everything is in place for the sp to move north but for the Court Case...

sandrew64 - 19 Jan 2005 09:34 - 511 of 27111

Any thoughts or opinions on when the court case may come to a close?

AdieH - 19 Jan 2005 09:54 - 512 of 27111

Your guess is as good as anyone else's, this has been dragging on for so long now, I believe were waiting for BPRG to submit their claim to the courts... No details on BPRG thread or on iii either, were just sitting and waiting.

History shows that when there seems to be bad news regarding BPRG, SEO then release details of other deals, so I presume once we hear about court case then SEO will release details of their trial with Asda, DYOR.

bosley - 19 Jan 2005 09:57 - 513 of 27111

sandra , it all depends when the seo board decide to stop fighting it. also depends whether bprg take the piss with their compensation claim. could be over sooner rather than later if everyone is reasonable.cant see it but.....
we need news now.

FONTY - 19 Jan 2005 10:01 - 514 of 27111

It will be a good one but have to wait like everything at the moment - it is so boring - even Caledon Resources isn't giving me an adrenalin rush but it is rising!

sandrew64 - 19 Jan 2005 10:13 - 515 of 27111

Thanks all.
