Israeli Gaza conflict?????? (GAZA)

Fred1new - 06 Jan 2009 19:21

Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?

If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?

Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?

What will the price of oil be in 4 weeks time?

Arab League backs Palestinian membership bid at UN

The Arab League says it will seek full UN membership for a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The decision was made at a meeting in Doha attended by Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas.

Mr Abbas had reiterated his determination to seek UN recognition in September unless Israel began negotiations on a "substantial basis".

US-led peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians have been stalled for months.

A statement issued by the Arab League monitoring committee on Saturday said it "supports the appeal to the UN asking that Palestine, within the 1967 borders, becomes a full-fledged state" of the international organisation.

Mr Abbas had told the meeting: "Our option is still negotiation, but it seems that because of conditions imposed by [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu... we have no choice but to use the UN to get recognition of our state.

"We are serious in our decision to use the UN, it is not manoeuvring. We will do it unless Netanyahu accepts to begin negotiations today on a substantial basis."

Israel should thank Egypt for opening Gaza crossing

Even though at first glance it might not look that way, Egypt's decision to open the Rafah crossing point is also good for Israel.

Without a doubt, Egypt's decision to open the Rafah crossing point is good for the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip and for the Hamas government. The question of whether it is good for Egypt remains open. As for Israel, even though at first glance it might not look that way, it is also good.

The fact that Gaza will now be directly connected to the Arab world might make it easier for Israel to untangle itself from a number of knots and a thoughtful and wise response to the new reality could make it easier to deal with the next flotilla.

.........

Anyone who wants to bring weapons has been doing it for years via the tunnels and we haven't been able to stop that.

Gaza is a foreign country. It is hard to digest this, but this is the logic of the disengagement, which must now be completed. Thanks are due to Egypt for having made this possible.

The first ship of the Freedom Flotilla 2 will set sail to the Gaza Strip on 20 June and will be followed by 11 more European vessels, the European campaign to end the siege on Gaza (ECESG) has announced.

The first ship of the Freedom Flotilla, which is a German and Swiss ship, will set sail from the German Hamburg port on the Elbe River, and then the North Sea to join the rest of the fleet, said Anwar al-Gharbi, a member of the ESECG, one of the largest partners in the humanitarian flotilla.

The ship will carry on board 40 Swiss public figures, including government legislators, politicians, media, and rights activists, as well as ten activists from Germany.

Separately, the ECESG has strongly condemned Canada's stance on the flotilla set to break the Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip, and emphasized that the position in no way reflects the government's interest in human rights and dignity

Gharbi confirmed that the flotilla has agreed that it would not turn back on the mission due to the depth of the crisis in the Gaza Strip.

The ECESG emphasized that European states must protect the ships against a possible Israeli attack, given that the passengers include a number of government officials and citizens from Europe.

Nine activists were shot dead and scores injured after Israel attacked the first Freedom Flotilla mission in May 2010.

Serves them bloody well right. If you attack a boarding party mounting a blockade with iron bars and knives you can expect to get shot; and you deserve it.
All the so-called "humanitarian" ships have to do is put into an Israeli port to check they don't have military supplies on board.
Want to be a martyr.
Bring it on.
Especially you armchair gobby nazis like parrot.

I suppose you are referring to the illegal blockade.

Parrot, did you know Hamas, the people you support so vehemently, have condemned the "murder" of the "holy warrior" Bin Laden.
You can tell a man by the company he keeps.
You are beneath contempt.

Should I list the comments from members of the right wing parties in the Israeli government that suggest that Palestinians should be shot without warning and that they are just animals and beasts of burden.

Olmert begins testifying, declares 'I am fighting for my life'
Former Prime Minister is first witness to take the stand in defense phase of corruption trial against him, in what his lawyer calls a 'chance to share his side for those who want to listen'.

Olmert friend and attorney Uri Messer tells court about $300,000 he kept for former PM

Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's friend and former lawyer Uri Messer was at one point holding at least $300,000 in cash in his office safe on Olmert's behalf, Messer said in court yesterday, in his first day of testimony in Olmert's corruption trial.

When asked why Messer would keep what he described as "around $300,000, maybe a little more" in his office safe, he told the Jerusalem District Court: "I received the money in cash, and there was an understanding that the funds would stay in cash. You don't keep cash in a closet, you keep it in a safe."

Haystack - 31 May 2011 15:07 - 5077 of 6906

The Israeli has been full of corrupt piliticians for years. Virtually all of the Prime Ministers have been implicated in serious fraud etc for years. Don't forget all the Prime Ministers and senior officials who have been terrorists.

This was in march this year:-

An Israeli court sentenced former President Moshe Katsav to seven years in prison for two charges of rape, making him the highest-ranking official to receive a jail term. Katsavs lawyer said he will appeal.

Investigators want Netanyahu charged

Ten months after Benjamin Netanyahu was tossed out of office, police are uring the attorney general to charge him with accepting bribes and illegally keeping hundreds of gifts that should have been turned over to the state.

Netanyahu has been under investigation for the past seven months and the recommendations were likely to deal a serious blow to his possible political comeback plans.

Some 100 investigators worked on the case, and at one point searched Netanyahu's home, office and a warehouse he used. Among the items reportedly stored there were candlesticks, silverware, candelabras, carpets, pictures, scarves and a gold letter opener that was a gift from U.S. Vice President Al Gore.

Netanyahu described the allegations as "baseless", and accused police of acting in bad faith.

"This was a tendentious investigation whose outcome was known ahead of time,"

The former prime minister joins a parade of top Israeli officials embroiled in scandals.

President Ezer Weizman is being investigated over large sums of money he received from a French millionaire. Prime Minister Ehud Barak's campaign financing is under police scrutiny. Transport Minister Yitzhak Mordechai, a onetime contender for prime minister, is on leave amid allegations he sexually assaulted a young employee. And the spiritual leader of the ultra-religious Shas party, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, could face charges of incitement for calling a Cabinet minister Satan, among other epithets.

Gaza flotilla vow as thousands rally in Istanbul

Details of a new Gaza aid flotilla have been announced, amid mass rallies in Turkey, marking a year since Israeli forces killed nine Turkish activists.

Organisers said that, despite the opening of Gaza's Egyptian border, the territory remained under "unlawful blockade" by the Israelis.

Fifteen ships will leave for Gaza from various Mediterranean ports in the second half of June, a spokesman said.

Bulent Yildirim, chairman of the Turkish Islamic charity IHH which was in charge of the Mavi Marmara, said he had received about one million applications from volunteers wanting to take part in the next flotilla.

"We are not sailing to death," he told Reuters news agency.

"We are making use of the right provided by the United Nations and Geneva convention. We are going there to establish a corridor to deliver humanitarian aid.

Vangelis Pisias, the Greek co-ordinator of the new flotilla, told reporters that Israel's blockade remained intact.

"Israel still prevents Palestinians from using their sea, and controls and severely restricts all goods entering and exiting Gaza," he said.

Huseyin Oruc, another senior member of the IHH, said about 1,500 activists from about 100 countries would board the vessels, which would also carry humanitarian aid, medical equipment, school supplies and construction materials, including up to 700 tonnes of cement.

Would anybody who places any value on what the parrot posts here care to say so?
I bet there aren't more than 10 on the entire board, and probably nearer five.
Also could anyone recommend a good psychiatrist to him? Preferably someone specialising in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
