snoball - 08 Apr 2004 14:19 - 5137 of 23498

Hi stockbunny, I had a go on Monday but was stopped out at 400. Stupid place to put a stop. I'm having a go on the S&P today.

stockbunny - 08 Apr 2004 14:32 - 5138 of 23498

Good luck on there Snoball! I'm still in on RTR, looking for a
tad more than it's currently offering...fingers crossed!

BTW message to one and all!

This_is_me - 08 Apr 2004 15:18 - 5139 of 23498

I am lucky to be still alive. I went over a dead badger in the car last night and it took off a brake pipe . Fortunately I had cause to prod the brakes because of a slow car in front before I went down a steep hill to a T junction otherwise the whole family could have been wiped out.

stockbunny - 08 Apr 2004 15:26 - 5140 of 23498

As this race on saturday will be the last I intend going
out with a bang so I'll put my 600 pot on as follows: (!)
Unshakable (I wish..) e/w 150
Turbo (for sonny number 1!) e/w 150
That should wipe me out in one foul/fowl (?) swoop if they lose (600)
which no doubt they will (giggle!)

stockbunny - 08 Apr 2004 15:28 - 5141 of 23498

Oh T-I-M what a thing to happen, everyone OK (well
except the badger of course) no one shaken up?
Seriously you did have a lucky escape!

snoball - 08 Apr 2004 16:22 - 5142 of 23498

Glad you survived This_is_me. It must have been terrifying, especially with the family in the car.
How did you stop?

jeffmack - 08 Apr 2004 17:17 - 5143 of 23498

You are right it was my youngest who passed his theory test recently. He is 21 in June and I am stumping up for an intensive driving course (400) and if he passes a cheap car and insurance. Its the old what you do for one you have to do for the other.

Regarding the horse race, the final list of runners will be posted tomorrow, so hold your bets for now.

TIM
Dead badger, that will teach you to aim for it.

Socrates - 08 Apr 2004 17:28 - 5144 of 23498

Well it was a dead badger after he went over it. Maybe it was just lying doggo.

Jeffmack
Some people will try to make a bob or two out of anything. I've got four tickets already, all for free.

This_is_me - 08 Apr 2004 20:57 - 5145 of 23498

I can confirm that a handbrake will bring a car to a stop although it is definately not capable of a emergency stop! MoraL of the story - if you feel a bump on the underneath of your car check your brakes and if they feel funny stop. It certainly wasn't funny when the brake pedal went to the floor to little effect and even then the warning light didn't come on.

Martini - 08 Apr 2004 21:33 - 5146 of 23498

Come on Little Woman and Hightone lets see your bets on the last race to give the rest of us a chance of catching you with one last throw of the dice.

Socrates - 09 Apr 2004 08:51 - 5147 of 23498

Good morning all you Bistronomers. I'm only having some Fruit & Fibre flakes for brekkies today, got to watch the old waistline you know. Then what?

jeffmack - 09 Apr 2004 09:33 - 5148 of 23498

Morning Socs. I'm doing some work at home today (Bank work), and I'm off all next week.

Socrates - 09 Apr 2004 10:59 - 5149 of 23498

Hi Jeff
Another holiday, alright for some. Obviously I'm in the wrong business. You still watching PTG? My spies are impressed with progress at Manston, bodes well if the EUjet contract takes off.

I'll have six, Socs.
I lurve bangers 'n' mash. Really creamy mash with lotsa butter and pepper sprinkled on the top and the bangers really hot and sticking out from the mash at all angles.
Can't seem to find anywhere around here where they have the old fashioned bangers. Might have to take a trip to Gloucester.

snoball - 09 Apr 2004 14:42 - 5154 of 23498

I am attempting to prepare a bedroom floor with a view to sanding and varnishing it. There are some gaps between the planks and I wonder if anybody knows a way of filling the gaps other than using papier mache as suggested in my DIY manual. It seems a bit labour intensive and boring.
Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated and considered.

A happy Yeaster to one and all.
