Harry, we might get a trading statement sometime this month.

There won't be any info regarding the roadshow; it was designed to showcase the company to potential buyers of the shares and success can only really be measured in terms of US institutions taking large stakes. However, as this company is incorporated in the BVI's, it is not obliged to publish the names of major shareholders, so we're still in the dark, unfortunately.

Doubtless the US institutions now have SOLA on their watchlists and some will already have bought stock.

cynic - 08 Jan 2007 16:03 - 515 of 3050

haven't checked size, but would guess mkt cap is much too small for US institutions ..... as for breakout, as mentioned by Harry, there is really nothing to work on as no history

fortitude18 - 08 Jan 2007 16:13 - 516 of 3050

the news due is very simple. mgt still in intense negotiations with existing customers about new supply contracts for output from 2008-2010 based on Letters of intent. Output increased on that basis. The price will acclerate away when this news is released. I suspect the contracts will be long term offering excellent earnings visibility and a re-rating.

cynic - 08 Jan 2007 16:23 - 517 of 3050

but acid Q .... would you buy today?

soul traders - 08 Jan 2007 16:23 - 518 of 3050

Cynic, the co is capped at 440 mil (100+ million shares in issue). Fidelity often has 6% stakes in the smallest of companies (sub 50 mil), so am not sure your argument holds.

cynic - 08 Jan 2007 16:26 - 519 of 3050

u r right ..... did not realise mkt cap was that large

soul traders - 08 Jan 2007 16:30 - 520 of 3050

What happened to PDYOR? ;o)

HARRYCAT - 08 Jan 2007 16:32 - 521 of 3050

Plus, what was the point of the U.S. roadshow if the m/cap was below their interest level (sorry to rub salt in).
SP just broached the 450p level. I knew that as soon as I made a comment on the sp, I would be proved wrong!!!

cynic - 08 Jan 2007 17:05 - 522 of 3050

cos i'm a lazy git! ...... and frankly, i don't give a hoot if peeps follow me blindly or even ignore me totally ...... not my concern!

cynic - 08 Jan 2007 17:07 - 523 of 3050

well deserved smack Harry! ...... had forgotten all about that ...... confess my only real interest is if the share goes up or down ...... often do not care about the logic for same

HARRYCAT - 08 Jan 2007 22:52 - 524 of 3050

Cynic, normally your analysis is spot on, so don't let your standards slip:o)
Many of us need your steadying influence. The rise of the SOLA sp has benefitted us all over the last few months, but it won't go on forever so logic & reason will probably be crucial in knowing when to jump ship.

soul traders - 08 Jan 2007 23:03 - 525 of 3050

Hear, hear!

I want to come up with something suitably Douglas-Adamsish about logic and reason jumping ship but it's midnight and my brain won't work.*

suggestions on the back of a fifty-euro note, please . . .

*I'm only here cos I'm having one of those late nights.

HARRYCAT - 08 Jan 2007 23:07 - 526 of 3050

Ahem. Don't forget we are British here. None of that nasty, funny money here!

soul traders - 08 Jan 2007 23:13 - 527 of 3050

Unfortunately I get paid in that nasty, funny money.

However, being a truly global banker I will accept anything that is legal tender. Including the new Iraqi Dinar, as long as somebody will please promise me that the currency is one day (soon) going to do what the post-war Kuwaiti money did.

HARRYCAT - 09 Jan 2007 09:34 - 528 of 3050

SOLA bid 485p. Now to see if 500 is going to be a resistance level. I suspect a certain amount of profit taking before that.

soul traders - 09 Jan 2007 10:27 - 530 of 3050

Great stuff: SOLA Bid: 485p Offer: 486p Change: 31

goldfinger - 09 Jan 2007 11:26 - 531 of 3050

Just lifted this from another site, looks like Winnie is still after this one...

Stock in the News - Renesola (SOLA)

Tom writes: The Chinese AIM bubble will burst because of a) scandal and b) hype and overvaluation. Bodisen Biotech is already supplying the former in spades. Renesola is a prime candidate to supply the latter. At 454p the market capitalisation is 454 million. On a minimal tax charge (is that sustainable?) third quarter post tax profit was just under 4 million but there was a net cash outflow. Net current assets are just 13 million and net assets not much over 20 million. So on an annualised PE of almost 30 and a vast premium, to net assets why is anyone tempted to buy? Hype and daft charting analysis..

cynic - 09 Jan 2007 11:31 - 532 of 3050

the prob with SOLA is that it is so young that it has no trading record or anything else of merit ..... thus evaluating the company and the level the sp deserves is even harder than usual ...... i fear gut instinct will be the best guide, but an equal racing certainty that most of us will not follow it

soul traders - 09 Jan 2007 11:37 - 533 of 3050

GF, somebody on "another site" made the point that Winnie appears not to have done his homework. In SOLA's case the figures are all there, both in the results aleady released and in the projections of production increases.

I certainly never bought on the basis of hype or of charts.
