I don`t understand it either- why on earth would you give up on a share- and presumably sell it- just because a freebb was being " trashed by pretentious posters".Surely the selling was helped along by these " pretentious posters",being deemed correct, or at least a hold would have been appropriate, or even a buy.?

My post at the weekend seems quite relevent given todays RNS ;-)
A few links on biodegradable packaging -

Novamont seem pretty up to date on this

Seems old hat this biodegradable thermoformed tray thing - perhaps why this is not mentioned so often as a jam tomorrow back up route.
I was not expecting them to go for this so soon - so yes wrong on the Monday RNS - however in hindsight - as an acquisition nearly always leads to downward SP - and given it now allows them to do the dilution I was talking about earlier - they can buy a company that will give them some real bottom line revenue - raise yet more money - so the recent hike in the SP serves its purpose - I think they are fully aware this will lead to a retraction in the SP - however being overvalued and hyped now allows them to place a smaller amount of shares - and it should now gradually fall back - if orders are as expected - in small amounts and not often and not amounting to the many thousands that are hyped into the price already.
Clever move by SEO - not good for shareholder value short to medium term though.

Bosley, not much to understand. Just that no-one asks the right people the right questions to get viable comment. I have bought and sold SEO three times now, my personal position is that I will not allow my investment to be manipulated by others so I am currently out until I deem it worthwhile to get back on board. I believe that investors get carried with the tide, only SEO can make the tide turn which will happen when they have the capability to do so.

DC I did call SEO about 2 weeks ago, Ian B was not available. I was told he would return my call. He did not. Probably to busy setting up the deal for buying Biotec.
I undertsood your post and totally agree with you.

Sequestor, you are quite correct, you do not understand. But why should you? You were not posting here in December/January when the sentiment was quite different. Many regulars then do not post now. And yet again, I did not say I had given up SEO as you wrongly imply, far from it, I now have a bigger pot ready to buy cheaper SEO shares when I decide the time is right.

A good post from elswhere -
"in the last financial year ended 31 December 2004 Biotec made a netloss of EUR1.3m. This loss was before charging interest of EUR 1m on loans from Biotec's parent which will no longer be a relevant item after the acquisition."
That figure does not inclued the interest of loans etc, that are needed to keep it running. So last years full loss was actually EUR2.3m (GBP1.55m). You cannot subtract it again!
Without interest charges, it was a loss of EUR1.3m (GBP880k).
As for your statement: "HOWARD's BET THE FAMILY JEWELS ON IT.LOL" well that appears far from the truth. Howard will effectively be paying his son $6.14m of Stanelco's funds for this loss making Company!

Stanelco - a loss making company - buys Biotech - a loss making company - someones son gets paid loads of money so it seems (is that other comment true?) - a dilution in the region of 50M to 75M shares with some fund raising for working capital (or put the company into debt) - to me it says they have just done the dirty on the shareholders - lets see what the press comment is on this - it could spark some serious debate and put into question many comments made on SE0.
My negative take is they know Walmart are not interested and potentially only the Asda agreement looking forward - so they are using the present situation to add something else in - very speculative and could push the risk factor over the top.

Although I got out of SEO when the bb got trashed by uninvited pretentious posters,
--------------
I still don`t understand- the clear implication is that you were influenced by negativity on a bb- thats your quote above "got out", "when " and " the bb got trashed", seems clear to me, anyway its your money- oh and I have been around since MAM started.
ps and I hold a few SEO

Sequestor, yes you are correct again, you still do not understand. Sorry, I should have been more explicit. I meant you were not posting on this thread December/January. Correct it is my money. Perhaps you should hold a few more SEO and make others jealous.

i don't get the negativity.going off this mornings rns, buying this company looks like a good thing. their technology does fit with seo. it also provides an alternative if bprg do win the appeal.
"Biotec is one of the world's leading exponents of starch technology and has a
considerable intellectual property portfolio, including many patents, extending
to uses in pharmaceutical and edible applications. It also has ranges of
products that are ready for commercialisation within the food and beverage
industries.
Biotec's proprietary pharmaceutical grade film is suited for applications where
it replaces conventional polymers such as gelatine."
looks like heads or tails, seo win....imo.

"I am also pleased to report that the second trial for GREENSEAL with ASDA has
moved into the retail phase, having passed the stability (shelf-life) test with
flying colours. The third and final trial is commencing this week. As announced
on 23 May, Stanelco has taken its first formal commercial order from a dedicated
ASDA supplier and is preparing itself for negotiations for further orders"
blimey!!! how much good news do you lot want in a day??

Bosley, ref post 5356 you are quite right. If SEO wanted to hand over funds to family members as others have suggested, they could have done that with less publicity in many ways. We shouldn't forget that directors of a public company are responsible for anything that could be construed as financial irregularity. It's obvious to me that they have bought this tech with the intention to improve their commercial situation, not to purposely make a loss from from it.

Bos - I just feel that the SEO management seem to know what they are doing. I think they have a strategy and this purchase fits neatly into their jigsaw. I am not a financial analyst - but I do not think SEO would have committed to a purchase of this magnitude if there was not already an agreement in principle made with other suppliers ( or at least they were supremely confident of announcing more orders in the near future). Far from diluting in the longer term - wont this purchase start to bring revenue into the company and longer term start adding to the bottom line in its own right?.
I know I am biased as I want the company to succeed - but they do seem to be gettin their ducks in a row and moving forward at one hell of a pace. It would not surprise me to see another RNS later this week.
Anyway - what do I know - I am voting with my feet and holding onto my shares - if I was able - I would probably use this period of uncertaainty to top up again

Sorry but I cannot agree with you on this share. The price is badly down today and there's a very good reason for that. It has risen too sharply over the past few months and is experiencing a correction. The price will continue to drop until reaching, in my opinion, the 20 pence mark.
I'm selling my stock, cashing in now, and may consider returning after the price correction has completed its course.

Interesting - I think we have a gremlin called kivvver - with 3 v's seems to be posting randomly all over this board to destabilise it. He has posted similar doom & Gloom stories on other threads as well.
I found this guy posting on other threads and thought I would check him/her out. Likes to use names that are similar to others to make u think its them - somethimes he just changes a capital letter or adds another letter in the name.
Ian (Moneyam) - you might like to check this out i case I an wrong

Kiv, I think you are an optimist. the B/S ratio is 43/55 on very small volumes and i think with any info like which has been released there is generally a stand and stare period.
I have been away for 3-4 days sleeping in a field. I was horrified to see over 200 updates to this thread but was delighted to find that because I had already Squelched Jak, II, Pauline, Sequestration, Chichi it cut about 80% of the inane contributions.

Oh well - little things please little minds - but more importantly - if someone is deliberately trying to pretend to be someone else - it puts the whole board in question. Not sure if this is malicious by someone trying to undermine what used to be an execellent BB - but has recently fallen into decline - or just some kids having a bit of fun - but MAM need to start to get a grip on this before it undermines the whole board.
