David Anderson (CROCODILE)

Bullshare - 25 May 2004 10:53

It is with deep regret I have to inform everyone that Dave Anderson(Crocodile) sadly passed away last night in his sleep.

This is a complete shock to all his family and friends, therefore can I ask everyone to respect their privacy and not phone his home etc.

David was the most likable and open person I have ever met and a huge friend of mine and MoneyAMs.

Whatever I post will never come near doing justice to this great man, so I will simply stop here.

Mike

20.13 I have had a few brief conversations with David's family today. Despite all that has happened they have managed to briefly log onto MoneyAm and seen the numerous postings. I know they are moved by the response. The family are in the process of organising David's funeral but matters are slightly complicated with the Bank Holiday weekend. I will post more in due course when I have some more information.

26 May :I have received many many e-mails with offers of help and offers of sympathy. Many thanks for all these and apologises if I have not been able to reply but I will get round to it. I will also make sure those that have asked me to pass on any messages to Davids family get sent on.

In the meantime I know many of you are wondering what happened. At this stage it is not for me to go into details but suffice to say it is of a natural cause and totally unexpected.

David had withdrawn a little from the site over the last few weeks as he felt he wanted to devote more time to looking after Maria who is very poorly. Although he did not post much in the day I do know he was constantly logging on. He still continued to burn the midnight oil to create each day traders thread and he would spend about 15 hours each weekend creating the Weekend/Monday thread.

16.34 26/May Have come off the phone from Rachel(David's daughter). Today is not an easy day for the family, I think they were so busy yesterday that today has been harder as it has had time to sink in. We talked about Funeral arrangements and Rachel mentioned that they could not book anything yet but will let me know as soon as possible. She mentioned once again about all the postings which they have been busy reading and thank everyone for all the kind words and thoughts. They will arrange a public funeral as they know a lot of people would like to attend.

A message from David's Family:(posted on David's website Snappytrader.com)

This is so very sad. David helped me so much when I started trading a few years ago.

Its a terrible loss. I felt numb when I heard the news.

David was a genuine gentleman and a univesally respected trader. RIP

Dead Cat Bounce - 25 May 2004 13:16 - 61 of 321

What awful news. As so many have said above, David was a very nice man, which is not a common thing these days. His contributions to this BB and to ADVFN in the past were outstanding. I met him several times at ADVFN and MoneyAm social get togethers, and we spoke sometimes on the phone. Two years ago at the ADVFN Xmas lunch I was lucky enough to win "Thread of the Year" prize and mentioned when collecting my award and thanking advfn for it, that I only got it because Croc had got it the year before and they didn't want to give it to the same guy twice in succession, so the award was rightfully his not mine. Perhaps we could commemorate him with a permanent annual "Crocodile Trophy" for the thread or post of the year?

He will be missed for his contributions and for being such a genuinely nice guy.

My condolences to his family.

DCB - that would be a very fitting tribute to somebody who contributed the most to both BB's and made them what they are today.

I've just logged on for the first time today and am shocked and stunned like everyone else. David was a generous man and always willing to help.

I always wanted to go one one of his daytraders courses, not for instruction but just to marvel at the ability of the man.

My deepest sympathy to his family.

ThePlayboy - 25 May 2004 13:59 - 66 of 321

Very sad and very sorry to hear the news. It's always difficult and raises ones awareness of mortality when something like this happens. Had a couple of calls this morning when I was out but reality only seems to have struck now I see it in black and white.

psued11 - 25 May 2004 14:17 - 69 of 321

Shocked and stunned. David was a genuinely nice guy who will be sorely missed. All my best wishes to David's family and close friends.

hkfooey - 25 May 2004 14:20 - 72 of 321

Deepest sympathy to David's family and friends.

I only met David once on his course in April'03 and was instantly struck by his willingness to help all who sat in his conservatory. His eagerness to help you learn was a huge credit to the man. I have followed David's posts, traders thread, and his website, in my quest to do what I enjoy the most - as well as he did. Thanks for everything Croc.

Truly shocked.

Richard.

DeanG - 25 May 2004 14:35 - 73 of 321

always a friend first and a client second. david was one of the real characters in the market and beyond, and one of the most genuine, kind and honest people i have met both professionally and socially.

david may you continue your success in the great trading room in the sky.
