RTD - Why? (RTD)

Nitefly - 15 Sep 2003 10:55

Why are we again at 10.5p bid?

It doesn't add up...

Good Results + Strong buying pre results + Christmas online buying soon = Price drop

Then again some companies that have debt for equity hanging in the balance, poor results and bankruptcy around the corner and they go up!

Why sell now at a loss?

Wont that be a kick in the teeth when we see 13.5p 14p again!

Best of luck all.

4 time as many buys as sells today!

I'm staying in.

There is a long way to go yet.

BTW have you seen CNE up 40%. Much more to come with such a big oil strike.

Hi All

My last posting reflected on why the share price had not inflated post interims in September 2003.

Back in September 'Jenty' commented the following update on the following website:

www.thisismoney.com/sections/section.asp?story=67648&sec=2&sections=4

Posted interims, a number of financial players evaluated RTD was on the path of sustainable recovery. Oriel Securities suggested 4.3 million full profit.

@ 17.5p RTD is valued at 49.5 million. With 280 millions share in circulation and projected profit of 4.3 million, makes p/e of 11. Still very very cheap.

Lets factor in recent news, Directors buying and upbeat statements and express this as respectable p/e of 20, this would rate the share price at 28p. I believe 28p is a target price before the release of full year resultsd in March.

As for 2004, personally I believe profits will approach 8 million in 2004/5 which suggests target price of 48p. This values RTD at 137 million with multiple of 17.

This share ramains a big buy.

rasool....thanks :-)))))

Rasool,

Where do you get profits of 8m from. In my earlier calcs I worked on profits of 5.5m to 6m as expected on the basis of the Nov trading statement where they said that profits would be slightly higher than the first half (which were 2.8m). I also did the calcs on 7m but thought that was dreaming so personally I think 8m is overly optomistic (not that I'd be unhappy). Do you have any reasons to substantiate 8m?

scotinvestor - 20 Jan 2004 00:01 - 562 of 2406

it said "significantly higher" not slightly higher. So i could assume 7 or 8 million too

ecomkid - 20 Jan 2004 00:16 - 563 of 2406

5.6 Mil is the roundabput figure according to broker consensus

javid...sorry not been in touch but, living in South Africa where its mid- summer, friends and relations descending like flies, South African Golf Open last week plus cricket test match v Windies have meant I haven't got in touch with that many threads with regard to my portfolio.
Been in RTD for some time and cost averaged down to 11p, I hold more than I'd really have liked but now very happy.
Glad to know that you weren't guesstamising but chartist plus, not sure in my head how far these can go but think 25-30p is obtainable in the shorter [?] term, perhaps in conjunction with profits declaration in March.

Fine, sunny, cloudless day here with a slight breeze, temp 34 degrees, living on a golf estate in the winelands area of Paarl.
Ah well, someones gotta do it!!!!!!!!! Think I'll have a dip in the pool, waters 82 degrees....lol...

javidshaik - 20 Jan 2004 10:45 - 568 of 2406

dont worry about the selling aspect going on. thats quite normal. the rise needs a breather but we will once again see an upward movement.

It just sat there saying connecting to stream diplaying column headers etc BUT NO Numbers.

Even if it was left for 5 minutes it still didn't display numbers.

overgrowth - 20 Jan 2004 21:10 - 575 of 2406

RTD held up well today folks - that's a good sign.

After the healthy rise over last week, we need a bit of breathing space before the next hike upwards to 22p.

All looks very solid to me.
